What are you thankful for?

7 posts in this topic.

  1. With the holidays and seasons of thanksgiving coming up, it's a good chunk of time to appreciate everything God has given us... but why only then? God blesses us every day, be them big or small! Sometimes it's the little things that He does for us that can really give us a heart of thankfulness.
1 Thessalonians 5:18 "Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you."
It's no surprise that a thankful heart is, well, a happy heart!
So that begs the question, what are you thankful for? How do you encourage others in your thankfulness towards God?

    1 Timothy 4:4-5
“For everything God created is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving, because it is consecrated by the word of God and prayer.”

    Psalm 106:1
"Praise the Lord. Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever."

    Hebrews 12:28-29
"Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe, for our God is a consuming fire."

    Psalm 92:1-2
"It is good to give thanks to the LORD,
    to sing praises to your name, O Most High;
to declare your steadfast love in the morning,
    and your faithfulness by night."

    Colossians 3:17
"And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him."

    Psalm 4:7
"You have put more joy in my heart than they have when their grain and wine abound."
  2. I am thankful for my family and best friend. God has definately put them in my life to help me get through this difficult year of college. :)

What are you all thankful for?
  3. I'm certainly thankful for my friends and family as well!

My boyfriend and his family have been huge spiritual mentors in my life, especially his mother who is really like a spiritual mom to me seeing as my mom is out of the picture in terms of my faith. It's been a long journey the past year and they even led me to get baptized just a couple months ago! They've also taught me the importance of the armor of God, which I hadn't really studied in depth until I started becoming friends with them. It's influenced my prayer life too; we pray for the armor of God every day since He gives it to us so that we're prepared to fight our spiritual battles in our day to day life.

on a totally random note I'm ever so thankful for my 5 senses, isn't that so cool how God made this for us just so we can experience life in it's full beauty? Personally, I'm a super sensory person so touching, tasting, feeling, hearing and smelling everything that I can get my hands on just makes me have a profound appreciation towards God's creation.
  4. A relatively minor thing, but I am thankful for my weighted blanket. It was just what I needed last night. :)
  5. Hot cocoa is what I am thankful for today!!
  6. Today I am thankful that the thing I baked for my nutrition project for college turned out just fine!
