In order to keep this club running and spread the workload around to make things easier for everyone, we are introducing a new system to claim badges!
Currently the way the club is set up, is the admins have a Google sheet and look through each thread manually to tally up days written. It's generally a lot of work and very time consuming!
SO instead, this year we're going to try something new. Each participant will be responsible for tallying up their days written and submitting it in a forum to claim badges. It's similar to how the rest of the site runs events with badges!
It will be a bit of an honor system; we expect you to be honest about what badges you claim.
Writing once every day gets you a one month streak badge (or two months or three, as the year passes!). At the end of each month make a post in the "Badges claim" forum thread, with the number of days you wrote total for the year (for the streak badge), whether you posted in someone else's thread and so on.
Writing for every day of a month or more gets you the streak badge
Writing one day or more in the month gets you a participation badge
Cheering someone else on in their thread gets you a cheerleader badge!
We are indeed bringing this club back for 26in26, though we may need to make some changes so the club admins don't burn out as much XP I'm really sorry for not keeping up with this in 2025 :') But as long as people want to continue the challenge, we'll provide a space to do that!!
For 2026, feel free to make a new thread in the forum! Also, if you're interested in helping run 26in26 (that would involve things like posting memes to keep the club active, cheering writers on, making badges, and tallying things up to award badges), let me know! Happy 2026!! ^-^
