YWS birthday tagbooks!! They get hilarious and can involve everyone.

Tagbooks in general are a lot of fun! I appreciate how casual and silly they can be. There's no planning, so everyone just lets their imagination run wild. And there's very little pressure with them compared to most SBs, so it doesn't take long to write something. My favorite tagbook post to write was the first one in The Good, the Bad, and the Google [Bot] because I had so much fun turning YWS into a whole bunch of Old West metaphors. I was also really happy with all the fantastic writers who came forward to post in that tagbook.
My very favorite memory though? I can't choose! I just spent a long time scrolling through a bunch of my past SB posts, and reading each one transported me back into their respective worlds, reminding me of the sense of excitement I felt while coming up with the SB or making a character for someone else's SB. (I was also happy to see that my writing has improved!) I really really enjoyed [i]creating/i] SBs. I miss those times of refreshing the page every few seconds after a first post to see if anyone's liked the page or grabbed a character slot in the DT. d:
I'd be able to narrow down my favorite characters or even maybe a couple favorite posts or SBs, but choosing from about four years of wonderful SB memories is just too hard! <3 -
The most memorable experience I've had in the SB section isn't a single incident - it's one that's spanned over at least several months. Awhile ago, the wonderful @Featherstone made a roleplay called Vodquila, and the five of us (counting her) that ended up taking part in couldn't possibly predict the consequences. Now a good amount of time later, we've created a prequel, have frequent run-ins with the other characters in other roleplays, have created an honorary family between our characters, and have even had two of them end up in a relationship.
(It's a very cute one, in case you were curious.)
The shenanigans we've come up with are ones that I'll definitely always treasure, and I'm sure we'll be coming up with more in the months (and hopefully years) to come. <3 -
If we have to list a memory, I'm going to exploit the loophole created by Saen and mention a thread instead! That thread can be none other than the one... the only... Pokemon MysteryDungeon: The Seventeen Plates of Arceus!
This is, by popular consensus of several storybookers through the years, one of the most epic storybooks ever to inhabit our beloved section. It's been dormant for a year or two now, and I'm sad to say that my desire to summarise its plot and get some organisation out of the way is the main reason for this, but all of the participants are also busy struggling with LIFE in the meantime. Still, it even has its own club, and all of us writing for the SB are consistently surprised by how many secret fans there are. It's quite humbling, actually.
To get back to the question at hand, writing for Gabriel the Riolu is probably the fondest experience I've had in the entirety of the adventure that is PMD. No other character has been with me for as long nor made me cry as much as he has. I shall most definitely recycle him for one of my personal novels, since I am simply too attached to him not to. I cannot wait to finish his story here on YWS someday.
Of course, we also have a prequel and a sequel waiting for us after this titan of a story (I mean... four DTs already?!) concludes, so... the wonderful cast - of which I am honoured to count myself a member - will be writing for quite a few years (probably more than ten...) still. I'd trade it for nothing in the world, since I made some of my best online friends by writing for it, and it's probably the single most influential work when it comes to my writing style and how it has developed over the years. It truly deserves its status as monument. -
Best Memory from the SB section? Uh...
...Pretty much what @AstralHunter said? XD Well, just replace the Gabriel bit with Twinkiel. To specify, Twinkiel became the most important creation I've written for so far, and the template for many aspects of my writing style in general. I've already managed to make him an original character, create a world for him to reside him, as well as an antagonist to fear.
To come back to the memory in itself, each post I wrote for him felt like a separate art piece - or, at least, that's what I wanted it to be. I started the SB when it was on its 3rd page, so I freaked out a bit because I really didn't want to be late. So, when I created Twinkiel, I hatched a plan that would allow him to catch up with everyone.
...He caught up much quicker than I anticipated (mainlybecauseI'mthebiggestcombat-drivendreakinthisdarnStoryBook) and is now on of the most dangerous characters of the cast so far.
I've also REALLY enjoyed developing Twinkiel's relationship with Hoopa (think Batman's Joker, but smaller, kinda cute and with actual superpowers), and hope that they'll end up becoming everything for each other. Like, love, dislike, hatred, annoyance, excitement, sadness, happiness, I WANT THEM TO FEEL EVERY POSSIBLE EMOTION FOR EACH OTHER, ARGH.
Ahem. Love Hoopa.
Anyway, so yeah! PMD. Close second would be writing for Miyavi in an SB called Aether, and Paggya, in another called Genii. They're two of my favorite characters by far, besides Twinkiel and his lil' world.
