    I've been busy between college and camping this past week, so coming up with the next question of the week completely slipped my mind until now! Here's a belated question - it was inspired by many members of the site returning to school this past week.

    Week XIV: Have you ever taken part in a storybook, roleplay or DTWH thread that was set in a school? If you have, was it entirely realistic fiction, or were there other genres thrown in?

    A new Captain's Challenge has arrived! The theme is Ready, Steady, Go! - with the new school year just around the corner, I thought it was the perfect time to bring out a challenge about planning.

    (If you haven't already claimed your points for the previous one, make sure to do that sometime today. That challenge will be taken down sometime tomorrow.)

    I have another question for this club, and it's not a question of the week. If you could improve this club, how would you? I'm unsatisfied with how active it currently is, and I wanted to figure out how I can make it more fun and interesting.

    Hey, everyone! Just popping in really quick to remind you all to claim any points you might have gotten from July's Captain's Challenge! You can get up to four points by posting in storybooks, one point from creating a storybook challenge, and another point from creating a storybook. The challenge officially ends in six days, so try to claim your points before then.

    Ahoy, mateys!

    Pirates @Featherstone and @Magestorrow are running a workshop on 7/24/2019 21:00 GMT on the basics of storybooking. We'll be going over the differences between roleplays, Double-Trouble Writing Huddle threads and storybooks, while also giving some tips on how to write each type. Alternatively, you can treat it as a Q&A session and ask us whatever questions about storybooking.

    It'll run for two hours at most, but you're free to drop whenever you'd like!

    An Official Storybook Month Contest


    DTWH (Double-Trouble Writing Huddle) threads are like roleplays on a smaller scale. As the name suggests, they're between two people. The posts tend to be on the smaller side, but they're the same as roleplaying when it comes to varying post lengths. When it comes to writing for other people's characters, the rules vary depending on the writers involved. Some posts may focus specifically on the actions of a single person's character(s), while others may be collaborated on by both people.



    The premise behind this contest is simple: you and another person write a DTWH thread together. There are a few requirements for you to include to be a part of the contest, but the rest is mostly up to you. You can pick the genre, the characters, the plot, the length - we'll just judge what thread tells the strongest story. Even if you're unable to finish it, we'll judge it with you already have written.

    The contest begins on July 1st and ends on July 31st - anything posted after that point won't be included when judging your story.
