Hey guys, Weirdo here, and this thread is for my novel Sucked Into A Black Hole. Lately, I've been focussig only on my lms novel, and I need motivation to continue my other projects, including this one, and I have only published the prologue of this novel. Anyone following my novel, following this thread will probably be a mistake.

Brief Description of Story:
It is based on the theory where a black hole can be used as a time machine(this theory is non-fictional), and years after it is proposed, they finally develop a way to make the theory come true, but at the last second, something goes wrong, and the spaceship gets sucked into a black hole.
Every chapter starts with a flashback from before they get sucked, and after that, continues with what they are currently doing. The POV switches between the four crew members.
After they get sucked, they emerge from a white hole. There is another non-fictional theory, one that states a black hole is a portal, and everyhing that gets sucked in emerges in an alternate universe. Basically, the two universes are like two sides of a sheet of paper, and a blackhole is like a hole in this sheet of paper.
They find shelter on a planet in this universe, and meet aleins. I haven't figured how it ends, but I don't plan to have them return to Earth, since that would be impossible.

Cool, a space story! What kind of aliens do the characters meet? How do they go about communicating with them?

I'm still figuring out most of the alien part, but I figured one thing, the aliens look a bit like humans, except they are not as developed, and they also look different as their ears are slightly bigger, and their eye colors include purple, red and grey. The crew later finds out even though the aliens have nose like structures on their faces, they can't actually smell.
They communicate mostly through actions, but eventually, the crew figures out a few words and their meanings in the language the aliens use to communicate with each other.
I'm still figuring out what their language is like, though. -
I'm glad you're actually addressing the language factor! As a linguistics-lover, it always annoys me when humans in sci-fi just have some kind of magical translator that means they can communicate with any alien they bump into. It's so much more interesting and realistic to think about how an alien language would work.

Yeah, can relate, it seems so unreal, right? It reminds me of cartoons, where aliens are green creatures and talk like robots.

Interesting idea! You mentioned that they would emerge in an alternate reality - does this alternate reality resemble ours in any way, or does it have completely different people? (For example, would one of the crew members be able to find an alien that's meant to be that reality's version of that specific crew member?)

No, nothing like that, but the stars formation and location and stuff like that would mirror our universe, except black holes will be white holes.

How will the crew cope with the knowledge that they probably won't be able to return home?

Going off of what Lael asked, did they really have a lot to miss back home, or are they okay with the possibility of not returning? -

Before takeoff, they were told that there was a 20% chance they won't be coming back after all. The crew's families also knew this. Daniel fell in love with someone and he is missing her. The rest miss only their families since they're part of a love triangle on board. Even though they were upset, all of them had said their final goodbyes, and they were curious about what the world was outside what they know. -

The other three characters are Estela, Calypso, and Matt.
Matt and Estela fell in love during a training they had to go through before going to space, but there were a couple of misunderstandings and Matt dumped Estela. Then they found out they'd have to go on this mission together and it became awkward in the starting. Estela still had feelings for Matt, even though she hated it. Matt, on the other hand, was over her and was dating Calypso. Calypso and Estela are good friends, though. -
How will that love triangle end up working out?

As I posted earlier, they all eventually die in the other universe
(quick update on that, they are able to send a message to Earth before their deaths, proving the theory that black holes are portals),
Matt is the first to die, and both of them are getting over it together, but in between, they do have an argument, but eventually, they work it out before they also die in the alter universe.
