So, I heard Hamilton was in my town a couple months ago, and though I knew it was popular (I'm a theatre kid, so talk of the big shows goes around) I'd never really seen the show or heard the music or really interacted with it at all. Additionally, tickets would undoubtedly be expensive...so I wasn't going to go to it.

Then, literally less than two hours before one of their performances, my friend texts me; "Hey, my mom won tickets to Hamilton. Wanna come?"

I had half an hour to dress up and eat and yeet on out so that I could get there on time. I will remind you that I have not seen the show, or heard the music...I only knew the subject matter, that it was popular, and whatever the Stage Manager of the show had told me a couple days prior (our theatre director is the best, and our school's theatre group is one of renown; the actors got to work with one of the Hamilton actors, learning dances and songs, while the techies got to talk to one of the assistant stage managers). I had no idea what was going to happen.

Front row. The show begins. "My name is Alexander Hamilton..." pauses for a good ten seconds because the crowd is cheering too loudly.

To make a long story short, the show was extraordinary, and I've added many of its songs to the 550+ in my playlist.

I’m still hung up on the fact that you didn't really hear Hamilton before you went to it...
    But still! Lucky!

If you have to ask, "Is this cliche?", it probably is.
