Hello!

Emilykay10144 here...

I really like this poem. It is short and simple, but it gets to the point. You show the readers of how the MC feels and the undying love for that one person. I love how you started with "He is love" with the same thing. Like I said, even though the poem is short, your words show the same emotion throughout the whole poem and it is amazing.

Keep up the great work! I love it!

P.S.

He is the reason hearts are still beating

This is my favorite line in the whole poem!

Hello there! Welcome to YWS! It's nice to meet you.

Here is my honest opinion. It's filled with good intentions.

This isn't a poem as much as it is a series of statements about an unknown "him."

Poetry isn't just a bunch of statements broken up to look pretty, so this is not a poem.

You need to rewrite this if you want it to be a poem. Here is my suggestion for a rewrite: show, don't tell. You're telling us all about this person, but we have no idea who he is. There is no way to feel what the narrator is feeling because there is nothing to base our emotions on.

Let us be in the moment. What makes the narrator feel like this "him" is love? Show us. Instead of saying that "He is kind and compassionate," say "His words are spring breezes" or something like that. If you want to get more literal, what has "he" done for the narrator that makes this person feel this way?

What I'm saying is, give the reader a reason to care. I read this, and honestly, I don't care. Make me care. Give me something to have emotions about. Give me metaphors and similes that make me think, wow, this poet's got something here. They see unseen connections between things that are relevant to the subject of the poem. Poetry is about connections, and this is a pile of statements.

I hope that this review was helpful to you. Have a nice day.

First off, Hello! And welcome to YWS! I'm also kinda new here if you didn't look at my profile (Probably didn't. I don't care.)
Secondly, Hmm... Still finding words to describe this. Good doesn't fit it. Amazing almost fits it... Lol I really liked it.
Third, most of the time your going to need more description. But this and its not description (couldn't think of a word that wouldn't offend you) is really good. Honestly I think no description in "he" was the way to go.
Fourth, And now all the nit picky stuff. You probably should've had some semi-colons/commas at the end of each phrase.
Fifth, who is describing "he". Obviously the narrator but is she (Or he not judging) someone who likes "he" or dates "he"? Or are they a Relative of "he". Idk. Don't put that in the story that's just a question.
Keep writing! -Micky

First, welcome! Welcome to YWS, and if you need any help or have any questions, you can ask anyone here because nobody bites. :)

These are the poems I see in like tumblr, so I was interested in reading this. There is really nothing I want to critique about, because you have sufficient details and emotions.

I like how you didn't add commas or periods after each line because I don't know, they kind of break writing off sometimes. I think this is a good example of where not to put periods.

Good job, I look forward to reading more of your works!

This is a very good poem! I liked how you show how the boy loves the main character. I feel like maybe you should of added more and what he means to the main character. Other than that, nice job. :)
