confession of a criminal

They say that legend often becomes fact, so before my reputation is completely ruined I want my story to be told. Everyone has blamed me and spat at me for something i didn't do. I never killed her, by the time i had gotten to her she was already dead. It was that husband of hers.

You see i occasionally checked in on them by looking through the window ever sense Megan helped me one day when I was bumming. She was so nice that she gave me ten dollars. I secretly followed her home...to make sure she wasn't mugged or hurt. It was the least I could do for her kind heart.

But this wasn't the last time we would meet face to face, occasionally she would come and visit me in my alleyway where we would talk. Soon we were friends, but apparently her husband wasn't to fond of this. I noticed this one day when I saw the bruise on Megan's face. She explained to me how it wasn't his fault and that she should have known better not to be hanging around guys.

"But not all guys are bad." I protested,"no one else cares about me like you do."

She sympathetically placed her hand on my shoulder and said, "I know but its the way things are going to have to be." She truly was a saccharine girl, but at the same time very foolish as she blindly fawned for her lover and was too conceded to care for people who made relationship anything but perfect.

But I couldn't be thrown out of the picture that easily, oh no, he'd have to kill me entirely to get me out of his life. A week later I saw her alone at the super market and thought i'd drop by to say hello to my friend. We chatted for a while, but the time went by too quickly and soon she had to go.

"I'll walk you home."

"I don't think that's such a good idea," she said uneasily.

"Nonsense, it will be fun." i insisted.

SHe looked at the ground and i felt that something was wrong, after a long pause she began.

"My husband says I can't see you anymore, he doesn't like you."

"What did i do wrong? YOu are my best friend."

"I tried to argue but her grabbed my arm and shook me really hard." She showed me the bruise on her arm.

"I'm really sorry Tom but I can't see you anymore."

I saw her wipe a tear from her eye and then she ran off without saying goodbye.

I never cried so hard, the night was filled with my painful bellows. My only friend was gone forever and there was nothing I could do about it. And all I could think about was why, why was the world so cruel to me?

The day after I followed her home again and witnessed the most painful thing. Megan had moved on, and as I stood outside their window and watched their cruel acts I felt my heart being crushed. I had nothing left.

That evening I went back to my ally where I would give up everything. I then walked into the streets as if I were walking on clouds, I closed my eyes and waited for a car, or a truck, or whatever to come forth and hit me. But before my life was smashed away I heard someone yell my name. I was shoved down and then i heard a loud crash. I opened my eyes and saw her lying there bleeding to death. I picked her up and moved her back to my ally. Her last words were, "Tome, I love you ,don't go." I can still remember them in her sweet voice the way a mother might say it to her son.

She died a few minutes later. That's when her husband found me with her. His voice erupted with so much hate that it hurt me more than his fists. That man took her away from me and i was left in perpetual state of sorrow and pain.

You see it was that man who did it. Any man that cruel shouldn't have a sweet woman like that to beat on. If he had let her stay with me things would be different, cause megan would still be around to show that something in this world love me.

I'm still new to Reviewing work so sorry if this isn't very helpful.

Most of the Grammatical Errors were already picked up and with Grammar not being my strong point I'll leave it at that.

My only concern is with the domestic violence, knowing a bit about this due to my fathers line of work. [FYI he isn't a wife beater by trade]

Generally Men or Women who beat their partners won't leave marks on the face as it's easier for others to see them, so maybe try other marks he notices on her body?

And at first she seems to be covering up for him, with the facial bruising but the second time around she explains the violence.

Sorry, Just Nitpicking about what I know.

Overall it's written amazingly and although a little depressing I loved it.

Hey titorelli,

This was a good plot overall. There were some grammatical and spelling errors, but I think mizz-iceberg caught them all. I agree that you should go through the story slowly and see the mistakes, also rewriting might inspire some new ideas! Great story though, it flowed nicely, keep up the writing!

Hello!

This is fresh, touching piece. I'll just first go through the nitpicks quickly...

They say that legend often becomes fact, so before my reputation is completely ruined I want my story to be told.

-You need a comma after 'ruined'.

Everyone has blamed me and spat at me for something i didn't do. I never killed her, by the time i had gotten to her she was already dead.

- You forgot to capitalize your 'I's. It's important that you do. It can get annoying too.

You see i occasionally checked in on them by looking through the window ever sense Megan helped me one day when I was bumming. She was so nice that she gave me ten dollars. I secretly followed her home...to make sure she wasn't mugged or hurt. It was the least I could do for her kind heart.

-The 'I'.
-sense should be since.
- Ok, this is just a suggestion, but I think there should be some other reason as to why he followed her home. Is his alleyway that dangerous? If it is, try to convice the reader by show some occurences that imply that the alley is dangerous. Or maybe he followed her home because he was just curoius. SHe was really pretty and sweet and the first to even give him a whole ten dollars, and she didn't even look that well off. However, it's up to you; it is your story.

But this wasn't the last time we would meet face to face, occasionally she would come and visit me in my alleyway where we would talk. Soon we were friends, but apparently her husband wasn't to fond of this.

-Too

-Why would she visit him and come to talk to him again and again? He should be just some old begger that she game money too. It's not ver convincing. Maybe she visits him again because of something he said when they first met? Why does she choose to meet him the second time. Is always sitting in her route? So she happens to pass by him and exchange a few words and they soon become friends? If that is it, you need to show us that in your story.

I noticed this one day when I saw the bruise on Megan's face. She explained to me how it wasn't his fault and that she should have known better [s]not[/s] than to be hanging around guys.

-Commas missing.

"But not all guys are bad." I protested,"no one else cares about me like you do."
She sympathetically placed her hand on my shoulder and said, "I know but its the way things are going to have to be."

"But not all guys are bad," I protested. "No one ale cares about me like you do."

Note the difference?

She truly was a saccharine girl, but at the same time very foolish as she blindly fawned for her lover and was too conceded to care for people who made relationship anything but perfect.

-Commas missing. By the way, I like this sentence. :D

A week later I saw her alone at the super market and thought i'd drop by to say hello [s]to my friend[/s].

-Comma missing.

I'm in a hurry. Getting late for my classes.

Go through your story slowly.
The main nitpicks are:

-'i's that should be 'I's.
-Missplaced or missing comas.
-You have put commas in place of periods in a few places.
-And commas instead of semicolons.
- You have mixed up your Its and It's.
-Typos. I'm sure you'll find them if you gro through the story slowly.

And one last thing:
In the beggining you say:
I never killed her, by the time i had gotten to her she was already dead.

I opened my eyes and saw her lying there bleeding to death. I picked her up and moved her back to my ally. Her last words were, "Tome, I love you ,don't go." I can still remember them in her sweet voice the way a mother might say it to her son.
She died a few minutes later.

-Contradicting yourself.

Sorry for such a hurried critique but I hope it helped.
This piece just needs some basic editing, and it's good to go.

I'm effortlessly ironic.
