To My Friend

I wish I was special
Alas, I’m only me
It seems there is nothing else
I will ever be
No words are complex
Enough to describe me
Your smile, your laugh
Is the thing that completes me
I happily provide service
To my friends, when in need.

If your body or spirit
Ever is broken
Please, come to me
Only kind words will be spoken

I’ve been asked before
and I’ll be asked again
“Why do you care so much?
They are only friends”
I laugh at their words
And tell them straight out
“If you don’t care for your friends
You are a sorry lout”

You may have my strength
For while you sleep
I shall be here
To take away your weak
I want to see you
Get better soon
More than I want
To understand the moon.

Once you are better
Don’t be afraid
For I will be there
To keep misery from your day
I’ll make sure you are safe
From all angles
After all
I’m your guardian angel

You may be surprised
Because I am not your kin
However, to me you shine
I am your friend.

I think its good that you tried to using rhyming techniques
the topic seems really good!
I think overall the poems 4 stars!!

I see no reason to celebrate the random timing of natural events by eating poison and singing.
