This is a tribute to Martyn Waghorn. He is a Leicester City player, offically now. Before, he was on loan, we nearly missed buying him in the transfer market, but in the last minute - we bought him.
You missed.
I cried.
You cried.
You left.
Never to return,
So I thought.
I was wrong.
I am always wrong.
I thought we would win.
We lost.
I thought it was too late.
Missed your chance,
You came back.
For that,
I love you!

Hi thegilliangill,
I don't know who Martyn Waghorn either but I don't think it really matters, except it does make the context more difficult for me to understand.
It is rather choppy... but it gives it a certain charm if you ask me. Short and sweet. I do think, however that maybe it would have been better to include a bit more description into it. I'm not sure of what you are talking about... is it about a soccer game where he missed a goal? It could easily be mistaken for a love story.
It wasn't bad, not bad at all. I kind of like it.
Keep writing!
Hey thegilliangill,
It Fiction here to review. First of all I have never heard of Martyn Waghorn or the team he plays on. Does this guy play soccer? I thought the poem about him was choppy and sort of bland.I think that you should add in more description of how this guy plays and what it is like for you to watch him play. I also think that I would deviate from using so many periods because it prevents the poem form flowing well together.
