Consent is important
While they may have said yes last time
You need to make sure to make sure they want it
Otherwise it's quite the crime
If they say yes to tea, give it to them
If they said no, they said no
You don't want to overwhelm
Or make them overflow
If they're unconscious
Don't shove it down their throat
Wait 'til they're conscious
Before you try to promote
I hope you can see
That I'm not talkin' 'bout tea

Hey there, Alice here to give a review!
My First Thoughts
My first impression of the title was that it was very unique, with the use of a question mark you turned a very casual title into something interesting! A poem about consent then. A very sensitive topic to talk about but you did it in a perky way using tea as a metaphor. The poem is quite short and direct, I wish a little bit more could have been expressed as it was such a good theme but I really enjoyed reading this poem. I liked the parallel between offering tea and asking for consent. Your shift of tone from underlying meanings. I liked the dark undertone like here.
Structure and Form
Your rhyme scheme worked well most of the time in this poem. And your flow with the poem was nice and it made the poem for the reader easily readable. The sentences were of the right lengths and were compatible with each other.
~Lil suggestions~
You had such an amazing and unique metaphor, I would have loved it if you went ahead and explored more underlying parallels and expanded the metaphor.
Secondly, I would suggest using imagery and other ways to incorporate more senses in the poem, it would have made the poem more memorable and amazing.
I would suggest, you can improve this poem a lot and expand its metaphor regarding consent. And you can take the suggestions if you want or ignore them, it's totally up to you:)
Overall I really liked it and it was really unique, always love reading a poem with quirky metaphors. Excited to see more of your work!
Keep Writing👍
