One hot summer day at my school
Never thought I'd be such a fool
It was just for a minute
but I was so immersed in it

One of the beauties I've ever seen
Never thought she'd be so mean
Oh so funny 'twas to watch
"Times up" said my Timex watch

One day I got too close
"That's far enough"said miroslav klose
Hair so short and ebony
Here I had almost an epiphany

"Once take the jump"said my peer
But Damn it I was so full of fear
Them I got her mobile number
Why couldn't I've done it any sooner

One find day I started to chat
"That's a bad idea"said my cat
We talked from night till morning
Out came the news without any warning

One time I asked her out for a date
"It was too late"said my fate
Out of nowhere she has a boyfriend
Now I'm a boy who's just a friend

One little word sank my heart
Like a balloon that encountered a dart
All my friends laughed like 'twas funny
"What's up doc ?"said buggs bunny

On that day I hated her
Appeared my brain from somewhere
Said the brain"it ain't her fault"
And then I thought 'It was all my fault'.

Hello there, silasmak2. I'm Niraco and I hope you're having a nice review day!

As I read this poem I actually was starting to slowly dislike this poem until the end.

What I found most unique about this poem was all the strange things speaking to you/the poet. Things like the watch or Buggs Bunny. They were rather funny and added some slight strange humour to this mostly sombre poem.

The reason I was moving on the side of dislike to this poem was because I tend not to like how people view the ‘friend zone’. My views tend to be to ‘get over it’ and that if a girl doesn’t like you then you should just move on instead of being bitter and sulking because you choose to stay friends with a girl whom you like. To me it is rather annoying - especially for a female.

However what made me like this poem was the ending:

One that day I hated her/Appeared my brain from somewhere/Said that brain”it ain’t her fault”/And then I thought ‘It was my fault’.

Its nice to see that the poet has grown slightly in just the end stanza. He has gone from bitter to accepting. From what I interpreted, this show real emotional growth. You/the poet understand that it wasn’t the girls fault that she went for someone else. Then again I do not think that it was all the poets fault. Perhaps he was too slow to ask the girl out but then again the poet has seemingly got a close friendship with the girl. Which is something - in the long run - the poet will prefer.

I really enjoyed this poem throughout. This is a funny poem that's why it make me happy when I read it. I like the depth and meaning and the way it speaks out to the reader. It expresses a lot in a few words, and even taken out-of-context I can feel the raw emotion you put into this. It conveyed something and also nothing, which kind of added to this sense of meaninglessness. In order to make it more poetic, try to cut out words that are unnecessary. But that's my personal opinion.Thank you soo much!! .. I feel..well, XD

Hello!
Augustus here for review!
The poem is amazing bro!
The most brilliant thing or I must say most entertaining thing about the poem is your way to describe the incident so smoothly. Other best thing about the poem is the way you kept the reader involved and maintain his will to read the poem for full. You know, I really enjoyed the poem.
Ah! and one more thing the references specially of that 'Timex watch' and 'buggs bunny' were cool.
I just want to suggest you to check the grammar and punctuation before submitting also the ending was so much usual and I was really expecting something different!
I would love to hear more from you.
Keep it up,
Goodbye.

Very cool poem. I like what it's about. The rhyming was nice and the emotion behind it was the right touch to make this poem really pop! I would suggest that you go back and add some punctuation where it's needed. It made the poem look odd to me as I read it, like it wasn't fully complete or something. (Or maybe it's just my brain?) But other then that, I enjoyed reading it and I think you did a fantastic job composing this! Nice work! -IceWinifredd

Will do. Appreciate it.

Glad I could help. :)

I thought this poem was fantastic! The emotional depth and feeling you put into it is amazing, and the references like "Bugs bunny" were nice too. Hate to be picky, but make sure you watch out for the sneaky grammar errors. They always get me too XD

But otherwise, you've done an awesome job. Keep it up! :D

I'll try to make sure its error free. Thank you for the comment.
