Poems are meant to be silly.
Who takes them seriously, really?

Alright, good poem but a few mistakes.........

"It just makes grave comments sound delirious", in this line, 'delirous' isn't the right word. You could use some other word like 'hilarious' or something.

Also, in the last line, you wrote " Poems ARE meant to be silly'', while in the first you say "Poems ARE meant to be silly", so you're mixing up the tenses. I suggest you fix it! :D

I like the poem, anyhow.

keep it up!

Thewriter13 here fir a review on this lovely review day! This poem is very good! I like the topic, first of all, because it really does discuss an important part of poetry. I like it! The rhyming is good, but i felt it was forced in one line:
"It just makes grave comments sound delerious!" First off delirious is spelled wrong, and the line itself seems forced. The rhythm is also inconsistent, so I suggest keeping every section the same number of syllables because that is what you did for the other two sections. The 2nd section is not like the rest. The first line is shorter than the second.
There are a few unnecessary commas as well:
"So go ahead and write some funny thing, and post it." There doesn't need to be a comma here unless you truly want one :)
same with the last line unless it was intentional.
Anywho, very good, very sweet :)
I think you should extend it maybe and add more about the silliness of poetry! Overall well done.
Please consider what I have mentioned and I hope you continue to write more poetry like this!
Keep writing!

Hey KatyaElefant here to review!

NITPICK:

Spoiler
It just makes grave comments sound delerious!

Delirious is spelled wrong here. Only nitpick that I have.

Let's see. I am going to probably ruin the purpose of this poem and I am sorry. Will you ever forgive me? Okay. Good. I feel like this poem is so short. You could totally expand on this so much. You could talk about all the aspects. I mean this poem is great! I love the cheerful aspect. I just feel like it is too short. XD For the second phrase, I might take them seriously....(don't look at me like that XD). The rhyming part I agree with. It doesn't have to rhyme but here I think that could be a good trait for this poem. I'm not saying you have too but... The last sentence I do not agree with not at all XD. Some poems are meant to be scary and sad. Like say you lost a loved one and make a poem, would that be a silly poem? If it is, that person is cruel.

Now that I let you down, let me love your poem now. I love how it has such a happy poem. The shortness is a good aspect of it(but I would love it if you could expand on it!). The themes in this poem. Anyways. Keep up the great work! Keep writing! :D

Thank you for the nitpick. I had was unsure of how to spell delirious, hence the mistake.
I will work on making it longer. Thank you for making that recommendation.
What I meant by "Poems are Mean to be Silly" is that when someone first created the poem, they intended to make it a humorous piece of literature. Instead people took it seriously.
Historicaly it is probably the other way around, but I do not care. This poem was meant to be silly, right?

I see!!! Thanks for clearing that up! Yeah.....(thinking about it). That totally makes sense! :D Good job!

Hello, welcome to YWS! Chips here with a review.

This was a really cute poem, the humor was good. For a short poem, it worked well. I also liked the irony you created, it was a clever element. However, there is always room for improvements, so I have a few suggestions which may help your poem improve even further.

"Poems are meant to be silly.
Who takes them seriously, really?"

This was a nice start, though I found the comma after "seriously", to be unnecessary.

"Rhyming isn't at all serious,
It just makes grave comments sound delerious!"

I'm not sure the wording of the second line here quite fit perhaps its the part about "grave comments", but that can be easily rephrased. You have a spelling error, the word "delerious", should be spelled as, *delirious*. So remember to spell-check.

"So go ahead and write some funny thing, and post it.
Poems were meant to be silly, and we all know it."

This was a nice ending, but the phrase, "funny thing", in my opinion could have been better, maybe adding an example of a joke? Or using humorous imagery even? That would have been a bit more effective.

Overall this was a good, lighthearted piece of poetry. I hope this review was of help to you. Keep writing!

--Chips

Thank you for the correction.
I will think about how to change those parts.

I love this! It's short and sweet with wonderful rhyming! I like that all the first letters of each line is capitalized (lots of people make the mistake of not doing that). Like Sherri, the two rhyming "it"s at the end bother me a little bit, but it is up to you whether to change it or not. I think it is really cool that you have already sent out a work on, what, your first day?! You have to be seriously engaged to do that, so I admire you for it. I don't really have anything else to say except that I have read some pretty depressing poems in my time at YWS, so not all poems are fun and pure joy, but I love the message you convey here. This is a wonderful piece with no error and a pure meaning. I really enjoyed reading it! Keep up the good work and I look forward to reading and reviewing more of your works later!

Hi shinobithief. Sherri here to review at your request. :)
This poem is really cute, if you don't mind that adjective. The rhyming adds to the light-heartedness, and the idea is happy. While I do have a slight objection to the idea that all poems are silly (I've read quit a few and written even more that are far from happy or silly) I do understand what you're trying to say.
I only found one error in this poem, and this error is more of a pet peeve than anything. In the last stanza, you use "it" twice in a row to make the ends of each line rhyme. I know it can be hard, but I would suggest finding something that can replace it that isn't the word "it". Like I said, though, using the same word twice as a rhyme is just a pet peeve of mine, and it's up to you whether or not you change it.
Anyways, I really like the happiness of this. It's short, but still makes you smile when you read it. Sometimes it's nice to have a poem that displays a simple, straightforward, happier message. :D
Can't wait to see what else you come up with
- Sherri

Thank you for the review!
I'm not sure what to replace "it" with, do you have any suggestions?

Submit? You could alter the line "So go ahead and write some funny thing, and post it." and replace "post it" with "submit". Does that work, or would you like me to think of something else? :)

Oh! That's perfect! I will use that, thank you.
