a surprise in the eggs

PreviousNext

the overwhelming, comforting aroma of freshly brewed coffee surrounds me, warms my still-wet fingertips.

the sizzle and pop of eggs frying on oil, followed by the gentle scraping of a fork scrambling them.

the splotch of soggy socks on the rain-splattered floor.

i smile.

im fixing breakfast with a friend, and im happy.

THIS is normal- there's no pressing claustrophobic need to escape, to do something, that usually accimpanies her presence.

for the first time in a while, i see that she's happy doing nothing....

and it surprises her

This piece sounds nice. It has a light happy feel to it.

The one thing I noticed is there are a lot of lowercase letters that should be uppercase(the beginning of sentences, and anytime you say "I" the I should be capitalized). And that anytime you say "I'm" you forget the apostrophe.

The piece itself has a nice ring to it, and I like it. It would be much better with proper capitalization.
But it is still a nice piece.

Good job!!!

Uh, Lisa, the whole reason we have elected officials is so we don't have to think all the time. Just like that rainforest scare a few years back: our officials saw there was a problem and they fixed it, didn't they?
