Raindrops

I watch the raindrops.
They lash against the window joyously
Wasn’t it the same when we had first met?

The cool air was stinging me.
My hands were numb with the chill.
I was trying to walk faster,
Under the overcast earth,
And you were there watching me.

The raindrops began to descend,
I was shivering.
When I felt your hand over my shoulders,
I sensed your sweater around me,
And I smiled.
The warmth of your love had engulfed me.

I smile again at the raindrops now,
Watching them lash against the window.
They seem so happy.
Probably another ‘me’ has met a ‘you.’

The grass looks all new,
Or is it my heart…
now all torn without you?
I feel a cold wind sweep by,
Or is it your insensitive heart?
I do nothing but only sigh!

I know you will never turn back…
To see the tears that flow with the rain…
I hope that you can feel…
The raindrops of my hurt…
Lashing against the memories of my heart.

hey
nice poem
I like it very much
well, I don't really know much about poems
but I felt that you used great words to express your feelings
it had a nice rhythm
and a good use of the rhyme scheme

keep writing!!

Nice piece there.Parts of the imagery used resembled a movie scene.

I didn't quite understand the use of 'me' and 'you' in that stanza.

The last stanza was the best because of its simple and deep description.

Keep up the good work.
