I have always known. Somewhere inside I understood that humans were not alone on this earth. Little did I know then, I am one of those other things, part of the huge, undetected organization that keeps the humans blissfully ignorant. I am luckier than some- able to pass unnoticed as a human. Even thought I was one for a while. Who am I? My name is Abigail Weston…and I’m something from your darkest nightmare.

The sweet purr of my motorcycle echoes in my ears and I smile as it races swiftly down the abandoned highway. The power of the gorgeous machine fills me and I let it go speeding faster than was safe on the slick road. Not that it matters if I crash. Droplets of rain glide off the black helmet I wore and slip from my water resistant leather jacket. The gloomy feeling of the small storm pretty much matched the mood I was in today. Ignoring the danger I glanced over at the passing country side.
It was haunting the way the world looked today. The trees looked especially eerie. They where the tallest pines I had ever seen with thick canopies that blocked away the sky. On a clear day you could probably walk through them and be lost in the magistracy of them. This day though, there was no sense of welcome to walk through their great trunks becoming lost in the sameness that went on forever. Today it was dark with shadows of other things; nightmares stalked the perfectly even rows of tall regal trees.
I shivered and leaned forward coaxing more speed from the bike. Suddenly over the purr of my ride comes the roar of another vehicle making me grip the handle bars more securely. Quickly I checked my mirrors only to roll my eyes when I spot the reason for my miniature heart attack. Right behind me speeding almost as much as me is a large crew cab truck. Silver in color with a chrome grill and bars it’s a fairly nice but unnoticeable rig… unless you know the spitfires that drive around in it. Which unfortunately I do and I can just picture them now.
Probably laughing their heads off as I restrain myself from flipping them a rude hand gesture.
“How about cha’ Jinxy?” I cringe at the hated nick name as her velvety voice slips into my head. Dang that friggen telepath Lizzie. Slowly I sucked in a deep breath trying to count to ten like I’m supposed to trying to control my anger. Confession time: I get ticked easily, really easy.
“Go head, call me that one more time Casper. I. Dare. You.” I think in the meanest voice I possibly could seeing how I was communicating through a mind link.
“You know counting to ten doesn’t usually help you at all Ab- I mean Jinx.”She said and I could actually hear the laughter bouncing around in my head. I could almost see her in my mirrors but the windshield was tinted but I knew what that little sliver haired dork was doing. She probably flipped her hair and high fived with the blond girl who I presumed was riding shotgun.
“Tizzy riding with you?” I ask mentally.
“Well Duh!” said a sharp bubbly noise inside my head.
“Oh course, you know Quakes and Sparky wouldn’t even think about taking her.” Lizzie’s voice filtered in, I could tell she was trying to sound annoyed but I knew she didn’t mind having her best bud back her up.
“I guess the whole team was called in?” I asked as I eased up on the throttle slowly.
“Yup, new Intel came in it could get more complicated then the simple escort that’s planned.” I gritted my teeth curling my gloved fingers around the handles.
“Nothing’s ever easy.” I whispered out loud as I flicked the blinker on and swerved onto a rough gravel road.
::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
I rolled to a stop beside a jet black muscle car that sat partly concealed off the road. I pushed the kick stand down and turned off the bike. Casper and Tizzy pulled over on the other side of the rode as I slowly lifted the helmet off. I shook my head reaching up to shake out my long auburn hair. Looking over I watched as the other two girls on my team stepped down from the high truck. First to put her feet on the ground was Tizzy or Jasmine Cross.
She is a cheerful looking girl with dazzling yellow eyes and dimples in her cheeks. As she turned from slamming the door of the truck her pastel blond ringlets dangle from a blue ponytail holder. From the driver’s side walks a tall girl called Casper. Her real name is Elizabeth Scarlet but I know her as Lizzie. As they stride across the road her long slivery white hair swirls around her shoulders.
I meet her sparkling blue eyes and nod dismounting from my bike as they came toward me. I stretched before hooking my helmet on the handle bars and slipping off my heavy leather jacket and laying it on the seat.
“Well it looks like the boys went ahead to scout it out a bit before we go in.” Lizzie said her voice just as smooth in life as in my head.
“Oh I hope they don’t do anything dangerous or stupid.” Jamie said as she looked down the road ringing her hands nervously. Honestly I don’t know how the girl survived missions as nervous as she tended to get. I wiggled my leg trying to make my soaked blue jeans fit more comfy.
“Alright, let’s get this over with.” I told them as I strode away. I knew the instant they fell in behind me as I let my senses become more alert. They heightened almost to the point of pain as I let myself become the monster I truly was. My eyes, usually storm cloud gray, filled in like someone was pouring ink into them until completely black. I could suddenly see more sharply, every small insect on the forest floor, all the small veins on the leaves. Heck I could probably count the number of leaves on the tree. I could hear everything and smell where the other two members of our team had walked just a little earlier.
After a short hike I began to sense the currents of electricity that made the hairs on my arm stand up. I knew we were close to Sparky, Lizzie’s big brother known as Will Scarlet. With my improved sight I could almost see the energy streams filling the air. I could defiantly feel the vibrations under my feet from Quakes my older, less mature, foster brother, Colton Winchester.
Lightly I leapt over a fallen tree landing beside Colt whose huge frame was lying sprawled out on the forest floor watching an old two story house. I kneeled down beside him focusing on one of the windows on the second floor where I could make out some movement.
Okay I know what some of you are thinking and I know I don't have enough reviews to post this but that is honestly what I'm about to go do. I just really need some help with this story thanks. Keira

Hey,
. I would like to see more, this was well-written and intruging. So bravo! But don't pat yourself on the back, use that time to write more of this!
I liked this. You are very descriptive and that's a good thing but don't go overboard. You wouldn't want to read about every piece of hair on a character's face in a book would you? I think you did not croos the line between descriptive and obsessed though so
Hey rustic-rebel,

I'm here for a review, obviously
Here I go:
I absolutely loved this. With a capitol L. It was everything you look for in a story hook, in my opinion anyway.
Ok, this sentence doesn't flow well, I actually had to go back to it like twice. I suggest maybe this : I could almost see her in my mirrors -although the windshield was tinted - and I could guess what that little silver haired dork was doing. Just a suggestion though
Uh, who's Jamie? We had Tizzy (Jasmine), Casper (Lizzie). Where did Jamie come from?
Well, the time I got here, you had 8 reviews, so you can remove this I think lol.
Well Keira, I absolutely loved this piece. It flowed so nicely, you started already in the action, I knew I wouldn't have to wait several chapters to read anything interesting. It was interesting right now! Please pm me for the next chapter?
