My favorite poet <3 You should post more poetry
Hopefully I can get a decent review out of my system

Okay short poem. I like this
I think I understand what you're going for in the first two lines. The more pain you find you can bear, the less it hurts, at least I think that's what you mean xD
And oh gosh. I totally understand the second part too <333 I don't know what to say. This is just pure genius as usual.
I just realized this was written in April. Haha sorry not sorry.
Okay, good day

Hello, queerelves! I'm emeraldfox, representing Team EarthBenders this Review Day!

I really loved this poem! It was short, but those seventeen words held so much meaning. Your poem showed how sometimes physical pain is worth it for something that you deeply want and need. The meter of the poem was strong, even though you only had a few lines to establish it. You didn't have any spelling or grammar issues. I also liked how the lack of capitalization and punctuation made the poem more raw and unedited, which I like and it works well here to convey the boy's emotions.
I wish I could give you some constructive criticism here, but I truly don't have anything to add.
You did such an excellent job on this poem. *likes* It makes me so happy that you write about LGBTQ+ issues because it isn't written about enough!

Hi, queerelves. This is pinkie here for a special review tonight! Well, it is not really special because people do this all the time. Well, let's get it started.

Well, I am bad with short poems, but I will do my best. I hope....
Like the other reviewers said, this poem is amazing. You did a good job on this poem. I did a poem in my school, but it is not very good. However, you did a nice job on poetry. I don't care about the un-capitalized nor un-punctuated in this poem. All I like it is how you wrote your words in this poem. It kept on repeating in my head as I am writing this review. I enjoyed this poem very much. Keep on the good work! I like to read more from you.
Awesome Job!
Cheers
Your reviewer, Pinkiegirl13
Hey there! Purple and fellow queer here to review for you! Let's get started.
Alike to the previous reviews, I will point out that reviewing for a short poem is quite difficult. I absolutely love what you have to say here. The small phrase "A broken spirit" says so much about the pain that it would cause to not be yourself. I'm usually not a fan of the un-capitalized and un-punctuated poetry, but I think that was a good choice for this piece. The only critique I have would be to expand a bit more. I love the simplicity, because it sticks with you. However, I think if you transferred more of the title into the actual piece it would be absolutely brilliant! I don't know you, so I don't know how to properly make an example of this. But, if you could even make another poem related to this but going even deeper, I would love to read it!
Keep up the fantastic work and have a great day!
~Purple
Thanks for the review ^~^ My intention was actually to turn this into a longer piece, and it initially was part of one but I couldn't decide where to go with it so I just left it short
Well if you ever plan on making it longer or publishing another piece like this I'd look forward to reading it!
Hey, I finally got around to reading this.
I think that this is beautiful, truly.
And, whilst I have never experienced anything close to this, the message is still so powerful and strong.
You have managed to create a heartful story filled with emotions in such a short time, I appluad you for that.
I like the lack of punctuation and the repetition, it helps in adding power and carrying the story.
Great job
Nargles xx
Thank you so much!
Hey there, queerelves! It's MysteryMe, here for a short review!!
Ok, obviously I can't really say too much about this, considering it's only five lines (reviewing short poems is so hard -_-) but I just wanted to tell you that I absolutely LOVED what you wrote here. I thought the way you expressed your subject was extremely beautiful, and I commend you for making something so great in such little words.
Is this your first poem? Or, at the very least, the first you posted on YWS? If so, nice job! My first poem was pretty god awful... in fact, most still are. I'm not too much of a poem person XD.
Anyway, I'll start listing some of the things I like about your work here:
1) Something about the way you didn't use any capitalization or punctuation (for stylistic choices, I'm sure) just really spoke to me. It made the impact even more powerful.
2) The flow was good, too. Everything was nice and smooth, and nothing stuck out as wrong or strange.
3) The first lines "the more it hurts, the less it hurts" were my favorite. Idk why, really, I just love the way they contradict each other, yet somehow make perfect sense.
To be completely honest, I suck with poetry, so I can't really give you any constructive advice. I just wanted to tell you that you did a wonderful job! Hope I helped! Keep writing!!!
I've only dabbled slightly in poetry before, so I'm glad you like it! Thank you for the compliments!
I am absolutely terrible at reviewing short poems xD but I shall try.
Also this might help with the weird formatting > hold down shift when you hit enter. Prevends double-spacing.
I'm a big fan of the repetition here, with how one word is changed and the rest is the same. It's got a nice flow, but maybe you should make the second line future tense? Because the pain of working out will avoid future pain of being made fun of? /thoughts
Highlight of the poem. Love the strength and clarity of this line.
Would be stronger if you combined these two lines into one.
Okay, so I love the message behind this poem and how it took you five lines to explain it. The point was gotten across very clearly -- the narrator works out to avoid being the subject of his classmates' cruel jokes and puns.
I love the simplicity of this. So powerful for something so small. A clear message, a smooth flow, and overall well-written. I really liked this! c:
Hope that helps. ^^

Thank you for the constructive advice ^^ I'm always trying to improve.
