Let's Eat Farkelstin: Chapter One

by pizzagrenade

Have you ever had the feeling that you were about to be cooked into a delicious delicacy for all of your so-called "fans" to consume? No? Well, I have.
The stench of fear wreaked off of my sweating body as I stared into my boiling, watery death. The shriek sound of cheers echoed through my ears like the sting of a billion untuned flutes. I tried to get away, but my bindings were tight. Seeing the smiling faces of my fans watching as I slowly lowered toward the me-sized cooking pot, wasn't the most disturbing part. Seeing the crowd lick their lips and tie bibs with my face printed on the front around their necks was even more disturbing.
I looked across from me. I watched as the president of the country prepared to began the meal of the year. Next to him was a face even more frightened than mine was. She watched, tears bleeding from her eyes, as I continued to lower to my death. I looked away from her. I couldn't watch her cry. It would make me cry. Well, more than I already was.
Looking below to my fate, I saw a familiar face. The sexy, fiery red-head from before. She smiled up at me, arms crossed at her chest. She wasn't going to eat me too, was she? I gulped.
"Would you like to change your mind, Edward?" She asked me, grinning now.
I began to sweat more. She laughed at me. Of course I wanted to change my mind. I didn't want to die. More than that, I didn't want to be eaten. Where did I go wrong? What could I have possibly done to deserve this? The best thing to do in this situation is to retrace my steps. Might as well start at the beginning.

Good Morning/Afternoon/Evening/Night(whichever one it is in your part of the world),

Hi! I'm Knight Hardy here on a mission to ensure that all works on YWS has at least two reviews. You will probably never see this but....Imma do this anyway.

Anyway let's get right to it,

Well...talk about an attention grabbing first chapter, oh wow, well this one absolutely manages to pull of the attention grabbing side of of things we've got someone who appears to be some sort of popular person liked by many being literally lowered into a pot to cook and people are clamoring for the food and cheering for it like its some kind of village sunday roast or something, and those tshirts are definitely the creepiest detail out of the lot.

I gulped.

Okay...the president of the country also being present for the event described as the greatest meal of the whole year is definitely bound to get our attention right here with all of that...oh dear, this is quite a crazy plan and to see that we've got even more people being cooked is just adding to the chaos here...well well, this is off to a lovely start here in this first chapter.

Well...hmm, now it looks this was some kind of exercise by someone trying to threaten this person into doing something, oh well...that's quite a revelation there...well, overall, a powerful first chapter, that definitely has a very good hook right there which makes you want to read on and find out more here. Solid start. :D

Aaaaand that's it for this one.

As always remember to take what you think was helpful and forget the rest.

Stay Safe
Harry

Wow. Your beginig really caught my attention and made me want to read on. Usualy if I hate the first paragraph I ditch the whole story. I loved the suspence too. This is the first time I actually wanted to read more of anyone's work. And this is my first time reviewing something. I hope I could write something as good as that. I'm still working on my novel trying to improve it.
