Bookworm's efforts

After failing at volleyball try-outs, tennis try-outs, and messing up at an audition, I vented my feelings in this poem. Enjoy.

I'm sorry I was not good enough-
not worthy enough for you.
You wanted me to huff and puff,
but I'm not aggressive through and through.

I'm only me.
I try to please.
But little bookworm you see,
can't win all on her knees.

Trying to do what you wanted
only earned me bruises.
Though not thoroughly daunted,
once again bookworm loses.

So I'll try not to waste your time,
and no more of mine.
I'll try another day to climb,
and crawl back to wait in line.

Hello!!

This is a nice little poem. It's very simple; in fact, that's the thing I like best about it. Still, you managed to slip in some details about your own experiences.

So I'll try not to waste your time,
and no more of mine.
I'll try another day to climb,
and crawl back to wait in line.

I like the way you wrote this stanza. It's almost a rhyme but not quite; I'm not a huge fan of poems that rhyme exactly so that's a good thing to me.

Nice work!! Keep writing!! :)

Hi there!

You know, I always find that we write the best when we're on an emotional high (or low). That being said, this is a really good poem. Like you said, this is just a way for you to vent your feelings. You did a good job putting a lot of emotion into this. This poem flows great and has a definite rhythm to it.

Overall I enhoyed reading this. I really don't have anything that I think you should change or fix. Keep writing!

are we even writers if we never did huge research and used none of it?
