The Question Mark

My face is a metaphor
for all which I believe,
unorthadox, in an uproar,
like something's up my sleeve.

I am a question mark,
lightning in the overcast,
my difference so stark,
but my downfall so fast.

I cling to the black ink words,
of those dusty yellow pages.
I use them as lethal swords,
in my frequent rages.

Maybe I'm bi-polar, moody;
flighty, some may say.
I can be grim, brooding,
but never the same.

I'm not a period,
a statement to ignore.
I'm not an exclamation,
an attention whore.

The question mark annoys,
and that I don't deny.
But I guess all you can do
is suck it up and sigh.

:) This poem made me smile. I always love seeing poems that personify things...like a question mark. :) Anyways, the only thing I wanted to comment on was that I just noticed one misspelling.

unorthadox
I believe it should be "unorthodox." With an o, not an a.
Other than that, though, this was really good. Keep writing!!

Paintingtherain,

I loved this ^^ It was simple and fun (and if you excuse what I'm about to do here) the rhyming was well done. Very seamless.

The edits:

My face is a metaphor
for all which I believe,
unorthadox, in an uproar, ?
like something's up my sleeve. cliché

The speaker's face is in an uproar? Perhaps the speaker's beliefs are an uproar. Or perhaps not, it's confusing what you mean to say with that bit there. It could work if you're careful.

There are many other words that rhyme with "believe" - the sleeve line just felt a bit weak compared to the rest.

I am a question mark,
lightning in the overcast,
my difference so stark,
but my downfall so fast.

Absolutely loved this stanza.

I cling to the black ink words, 7
of those dusty yellow pages. 8
I use them as lethal swords, 7
in my frequent rages.6

If you read this out loud - the last line seems off rhythm, right? I've pointed out the amount of syllables in each line. Going from 7-8 to 7-6 will do that. This is an easy fix though if you add a word or two. Going through the poem and counting syllables like this is a great way to make sure it flows perfectly. Just another way to polish it up.

But I guess all you can do
is suck it up and sigh.

Hehe. Love the ending. Certainly fits with the voice that you've subtly built up here. Great job! Would love to read more from you so keep writing!

Wow this so descries how I'm treated sometimes. It's a very strong poem and it gets the point across but I think the title is what really drew me in. I didn't see any errors of any sort but still, I am still pretty new at this whole reviewing thing. I hope you enjoyed reading over it and feeling a sense of accomplishment because it's amazing. Please ignore all your other reviews because I don't think you should change anything.
