I was walking on a road one day,
The road was full of mirages.
The cloudless sky too had a dry story to say,
And the sages had said many prayers.
Then suddenly game a huge cloud grey,
The sun then lay beneath the grey tufts of cotton.
The clouds were not mirages,
They had come here to stay.
The first drops from the heavens fell,
And the entire noise around me stopped.
The clouds began to cry and yell,
And the barren land began to get wet.
The wells will get filled,
The farmers will finally smile.
The soil will finally be tilled,
And the women for water will not have to walk for miles.
The peacocks haven’t stopped singing songs,
Cuckoos are singing their melodies.
The dogs are looking for some shelter,
And the cows are moving because of the insects’ wrongs.
The men in the city heave a relief’s sigh,
Now, their spirits are on a high.
And the scooterists love getting wet,
All of them wish that this rain would never die.
The children are out in the rain,
They are making their paper boats.
They shout in delight as they see their boats float
On the water and challenge its strong currents.
Greenery sprouts everywhere.
The grass is growing here and there.
The nature is celebrating
And the plants and trees are opening their leaves.
The atmosphere is a happy one.
The people, plants and trees are celebrating.
Because the nature has freed the people and trees of pain
And disdain
Of the heat waves.

I thought it was Horton not Hector. Ha, but about the poem....its really nice.
It has the best description of the rainy season I've ever read. Dang!
Well considering I havent read much....haha
anyways....keep up the good work..
Thanks for liking my poem and avatar. I am crazy about Linkin Park and rain. This poem was inspired by another poem written by Nobel Prize winner Rabindranath Tagore. But in his poem, he had just described the farms and villages of India. I wanted that my poem should describe all the aspects of the rainy season- from the farms and villages to the city life. I like your location. I guess its inspired by the pcture based on the story of Dr.Seuss which has an elephant named Hector and a very very small person trying to save his world.
That was a great poem. Its got good flow and Thank you so much for using Punctuation marks!
(you have no idea how much it bothers me when people don't use Proper Punctuation) As for the subject, i loved that, too! Keep writing!
