Rage. Black, bold, furious rage. It courses through the mind in thin, poisonous threads that permeate all and any venues they reach. It makes the back sit a little straighter, the jaw strain a little tighter. It becomes a struggle to contain it as it boils up inside, bubbling against the walls and building burning pressure between the ceilings and floors. Sight turns dark and hazy, movements turn shaky and jerking as all attention is focused on containing this massive monster growing like some unwanted, ill-conceived creation of the self, roaring its need to escape.
Yes, on the outside, the effects are momentarily confined, but on the inside exists a battlefield, the pools of light rapidly being overcome by the yawning wave of darkness, which permeates and destroys all in its devastating trail.
The mouth serves as the main outlet of the power, and the urge for it to open and let the rage escape becomes almost overwhelmingly potent, but the muscles there still resist the blackness, keeping the floodgates shut even as the waters bash and hurl themselves at its rattling hinges.
It will be victorious. It will overcome.
An emotion so naked and raw and intoxicating cannot be held against by things so fragile and fleeting such as those of the light, a human’s constant struggle rather than instinct. In just the first upsurge of the shadowed mouth, the light is snuffed out; the second tears up the tender roots and sends them tumbling into the abyss, the rage rearing its scaled and fiery head as it plunges its own black, piercing fingers deep into the sensitive core of the host. It feeds, it empowers, it rules.
Some have been called weak to bend under such an influence; those born of the light have not truly felt the crawling tentacles of the dark, but they don’t know this. Their floating minds grasp onto the failure of the lost and hoist it up in example, pouring their harsh, white lights onto the broken figure. Inner pomposity disguised under the sickly sweet mask of surface sympathy and selflessness. Light led blindly by light, dark drawn deeper under by the dark.
And so spins the world, the fight eternal, the balance nonexistent.

Wow! This is truly amazing! Your vocabulary is really great and I am impressed.
This really caught my attention and I couldn't stop reading it. I love your metaphors and comparisons. You differ the length of your sentences which makes it so much easier to read fluently.
My favourite line are: "An emotion so naked and raw and intoxicating cannot be held against by things so fragile and fleeting such as those of the light, a human’s constant struggle rather than instinct." and "It feeds, it empowers, it rules."
I also like how you address the issue of people not being able to truly understand if they haven't experienced the same things. "Their floating minds grasp onto the failure of the lost and hoist it up in example, pouring their harsh, white lights onto the broken figure. Inner pomposity disguised under the sickly sweet mask of surface sympathy and selflessness." I think this sentence is very true, sadly.
Keep up the good work! I really loved this
So emotionally dramatic. I loved this. You did a great job! I love the adjectives that you've used in your poem. It made sense. Also, the words were deep and I love deep words because it sounds great and professional on any poems or stories. In addition, I can see the overall sadness and grief of this piece. It's just amazing! Keep it up..
