Who is the fairest of them all?

I see you. I see the little part of you in the cage which you hide so deep within yourself. The part which you think is turned from the world towards the commemoration of your sin.

The eyes of the world is filled with the opportune, searching for the hidden messages and wry smiles, dark eyes and slumped frames, bitten nails and the ironic stains from trying to hide your imperfections.

I know you because I am you. I know you because my eyes are not always blind to the truth. Tell me why you allow yourself to be fooled by the fool within yourself feeding you the foul bread of deceit. Tell me why you allow your eyes to be pumped full of dark blood so you see the severance of a falling leaf as the metaphor for your immortality. Tell me why you tell yourself: "I am not good enough".

To turn the eye and the soul from the beauty within us, makes the soul within turn away from the beauty we come in contact with. We hear someone laughing, so we draw swords to swiftly slice the tongue of the innocent, believing we are being mocked. Colour becomes banal, nature becomes a burden, people become objects.

Cleanse yourself, purge your innards, scrape the blackened parts from your charred past and discard it. Do away with lead in your heart, tighten a piece of leather around it and beat your drum. Open your eyes, see with your soul. Let your hands become an extension of your heart, so you truly feel. Let ideas flow from you, so that others' ideas may manifest and garner your respect. The life we have is the life we need to live. The "you" you have is the only one you'll know. Be kind. Be generous. Be YOU.I see you.
