There is another story about every person we meet. It can be the one which has ended nearly faster than it has even started, the one we consider the best thing that has ever happened to us or just a story which we have completely made up in our heads wishing it happened sometime. Some stories end happily, other end badly, but usually when things get tough, we are the last people to blame. Partially, it is just a human thing, blaming others for our failures and feelings, as we are the only ones responsible for our success. Sometimes we just simply have to stop for a brief moment, take a huge step back to see the whole picture.
Did you really act so terribly towards me or maybe I just simply shouldn’t have expected anything in return? Anyway who gave me the right to expect anything, since there was nothing-serious going on from the very beginning. Unless we are talking about how “serious” I imagined us to become, then I guess that even serious would be a word not big enough to describe my ambitious plans.
Sometimes we just want things so badly that we allow ourselves to believe in the story we feed ourselves with, where everything goes as we want it to go, where we are clearly struggling with ups and downs – has anyone seen a great love story without an unfair fight against all odds? -but no matter the circumstances, there’s always a happy ending.
As the time goes by we let the romance grow in our heads, let it get out of control, let it take its own course that makes us see things deep within that we start reading between the lines, searching for a hidden agenda that could give us the slightest sign of hope, and, surprisingly, we find what we were looking for most of the times.
Why do we constantly try to hurt ourselves having those great expectations? Is it because of movies, which seem to follow the motto “nothing worthwhile having comes easy, but eventually it always comes”, where you can wait for 20 or maybe even 40 years for an unexpected twist in the plot , but if it’s meant to be, it will be, so the conclusion is – every path will lead him to your heart.
Books are also a little help if you are trying to be honest with yourself. Reading about feelings that are so intense, that make me wish one day I’ll be able to say “ I love him so much that I didn’t even realize you could have such strong feelings for someone”, don’t necessarily make me want to get into my head that I can’t force anyone to love me.
Friends keep on telling us not to give up on our hopes, because a friend of a friend of theirs has experienced the same story and they ended up married with three great kids, or that I shouldn’t be worried that he hasn’t responded to any of my multiple texts for the last whole week and for sure I shouldn’t be feeling like a psycho, because it all can be easily explained. Clearly there is always a good explanation.
When all our efforts are done in vain, and it’s obvious that we can no longer continue on convincing ourselves that anything may happen if you’re willing to make an effort –as it’s often the way that you do the math, and efforts put don’t equal efforts received, we are hurt. Hurt because of the things which never happened, hurt because of an idea of what there could have been, hurt because we are not ready to let this fantasy go. The hardest part is probably admitting to ourselves that we can’t even say that we are sorry because things went wrong, because there weren’t meant to go anywhere from the very beginning.
People tend to attribute greater meaning to most things, analyse conversations, overanalyse the way other people behave or the overall impression they make. Playing a little Freud, we usually try to see something more meaningful, something greater, something that is hidden so cleverly that it simply doesn’t exist?

So the title really sparked my interest - good bait to catch a reader. The solid truth and how readers can relate to this throughout the essay makes this a great read. There's just a few little things I want to clear up...

In this sentence, "other” should be plural because "stories" is plural and "other" is referring to "stories."
"Anyway who gave me the right to expect anything, since there was nothing-serious going on from the very beginning."
This is understandable the way it is, but it might be better to add a comma after "Anyway," remove the hyphen after "nothing," and replace the period with a question mark.
“…we find what we were looking for most of the times.”
You just need to change “were” to “we’re” so that it makes sense: “…we find what we’re (we are) looking for most of the times.”

Okay, except it should be “…say, 'I love him…” (add a comma after “say”). Also it’s probably better to change “…realize you could…” to “…realize I could…” since the pronoun in quotation marks is “I.” Lastly, the comma in “…for someone’,…” should be placed within the quotations: “…for someone,’…”

Wow, this was very interesting to read. First off, the title is what made me click and decide to read anyway. Then, the topic of the entire thing is what made me keep reading. Honestly, I find a lot of truth in the things that you said here, and its an interesting way to think.
To think of life as everything not always having to have a deeper meaning, and that some things just happen because they happened is an interesting point of view. I personally, liked what you had to say here, and I thought it was a very interesting way to portray the ideas.
People are interesting creatures in that we like to give meaning to things without meaning, find blame in things where blame cannot be found, and just all around think we're better than everything around us in that we can do these things that we shouldn't be able to.
Overall, I really enjoyed this. It was interesting to read and rather eye-opening. Great job.
