The High Above
Everyone looks
To a higher pow’r,
Be it almighty God
Or a twinkling star.
Whether wishes are thought of
With candles outblown
Or in the quiet of church
Their nature unknown
Any can reason
There’s something out there
To hear silent pleading
And listen to prayers.
For we would not ask
If we believed it in vain
That only mortal efforts
Desires be attained.
The Omnipotent or wives tales
The methods concur,
From high above does fortune come
Not just efforts yours.

I was looking for a somewhat philosophical poem, and come across this one. Sprung from a very wild almost religious mind! Very wonderful! Explaining the deep and innate need for civilization to believe in something "out there", rather than nothing. They fit into 3 catagories: Those that believe in higher power, those that question, and those that fear it. And yes atheists have a valid opinion, although who is to say that they have another reason then to denounce any being of the afterlife.
My ramblings sway me from order, sorry. I found the peice a relaxing artform seeing it come from a fellow teen. It spoke much truth, and the meaning defined in perfectly chosen words.
Well done.
