my monologue

Hi, everybody!

I never wrote before, but the strange thing happened and our English teacher tolled us to write a monologue. And it is not any monologue, I have to write a monologue for one of Shakespeare's characters.

I just started, but I really want to know if I on the right track...

can you please read and tell me what do you think about it

Monologue of Benedick (Much Ado About Nothing) Just before his marriage with Beatrice...

Today, the day I’m getting married

Today, the day I’m starting the new life,

This day, today I want to say some thing about my old life,

My mistakes that I’ve made and

Apologise for every ungrateful thing I’ve done before

The very first thing I wish to tell you

Is that: the man was born to make mistakes

No man is innocent

And it is not my fault

My job is to kill another man,

And just for this

I’m not going to be forgiven by the Lord

But today

I want to say sorry for my words

That I’ve said to Claudio about Hero

I want to apologise for my stupid views

I had before about women

I thought there wasn’t anybody right for me

As well as for my friend

But he is old enough to make his own decisions

I didn’t have anything against lovely Hero

I just didn’t want Claudio to get married

Because it would have ruined my beliefs

And probably because of him

I’m standing here today

Forgive me Claudio

And thank you

You will be my friend for many years further

And now you, my love

I knew you before, but then

I wasn’t ready to accept you

Today things changed

I wish to take your hand

And ask for my forgiveness

My behaviour hurt you

I fully understand you and

Agree when you named me a dull fool

Your anger now is clear to me

Your thoughts, your words

It all was only echo of your love

And while I was deaf

I couldn’t hear it

For last few days

The world has changed for me

Today, the love is only one real filling

That I know for sure, is true

And if you can,

Forgive me

For my false standards and

Foolish thinking that I had

For you I’ve changed

I went against my friend and Don Pedro

Who is also my friend

But in much higher status

For one kind word of yours

I was ready to kill my own friend
