PACMAN'S GLORY

Pacman in the person of Manny Pacyao
symbolized the Filipino fighting spirit
and dreams to achieve a future with awe
and hope amidst poverty's great spit.
A man of boxing so mighty in the ring
with speed , stamina and skill in fighting
yet even if he won in every boxing game
he was so humble, unmindful of the fame.
Courage to fight and take all pains
with his desire to tame poverty's claim ,
was his greatest shield in every gain
and his strong armor fighting for fame.
Many Filipinos idolized his great stance
as he fought with power in the ring
specially when he never gave a chance
for his opponent to explode for a win.
All had seen how this poor boy journeyed
in his ardent desire to bless his family
and alleviated them from the face of poverty
even he had to be beaten with pain and agony.
Never he forgot to pray and seek God's mercy
for what kept his body always strong and mighty
was his deep faith to God, to the Divine Mercy
and his desire to help the poor and the needy.
dedicated to Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao on his
great display of courage and skill in boxing
and his undying desire to fight poverty
and share the light of hope to the Filipinos.

Wow, I really enjoyed this poem. While I am not a fan of boxing myself, you painted a riveting portrait of this boxer. My only real critique is how you focused on his defeat of poverty. I believe you spoke of it four different times. And while it is admirable that he wanted to subdue poverty, you never really showed how he did this through boxing. Was he conquering poverty on a personal level, for just his family? Or was he trying to use his position to help a wider circle of the impoverished? If it was only for his family, while admirable, I am not sure it is something to boast about. If it is on a bigger scale, I'd like a more detailed example as to how he helped the poor and needy. Did he donate money to charity? Was he passionate about helping the poor at a more personal level than just financhially? Good job, though, you made me very curious about this boxer nicknamed PacMan.

I have a bunch of corrections to make but I figure someone else will do it for me. I'm in the mood but I can spare not a second for I myself have school to endure throughout the day.
It consists mostly of the usual grammar and spelling anyway. Just use spell checker in word or some software and you should be fine.
Also, you can use a dictionary if you find it hard or if you're hesitant on the spelling of a word. I prefer google though.
Overall: I like the fact that you are proud of the Filipino Boxing Champ. It's very rare to find a piece of fine literature aimed straight at Manny. Good job sir. More power!
