an ode or two to the modern mother

by marzipan

"resistance is futile"

your post-it-note smile
reminds me -
I haven't unpacked and
my scarf is still on the floor.
I'd put it off
but you've written it in blue cursive
across those deadly lips.

"when we were small"

she sprinkled dry macaroni
under the cupboards
and across the kitchen tiles
"I'll be back Tuesday," she said.

HM...I didn't understand this poem at all...however, I liked that. It reminds me of this poem I wrote called Helen's Lane. Very good. From the title to the last stanza, I loved every moment of it. Good job. :D
