My ear split,
like my legs have been lately
for your hunger.
I am confused by you, and the way you cannot
smile.
You brood only.
You look at me
and I see nothing.
But I look at your lips and I see
everything.
You ask me to scratch your back,
and I do, but
then you turn away from me in the night,
resorting to the floor.

This is a rather powerful poem, I must admit. I do not however understand the last line, "resorting to the floor". If I understand it correctly, the poem talks of a not-so-nice boyfriend, but why would he resort to the floor? I find it rather confusing.

I read this a few times and I absolutely love it.The length is perfect,it fits together like the pieces of a puzzle. This is very well written.
