It was the last time I saw him, fighting for this world
Determined to save
All of his friends.
He was a brave, dedicated man
Too young to leave
The world at this age.
He was a hero, he saved them all
From all the enemies
During the war.
I was the one, to hold him in my arms
The very last minute
He said goodbye.
He was the one, to brighten my day
But now without him
I turned the page.

Hello! I just want to say this is very nicely written!
Thanks
Anytime!
This is beautifully written.
The love, pride, and adoration the narrator has for the soldier is apparent in the bravery he displayed and the actions he took to protect others. Wonderful job expressing not only a selfless act the soldier did, but also the loss his absence caused the narrator and her struggle to move on with her life. I wouldn't change anything. The simplicity and short length of the poem amplify the powerful meaning for the reader. Excellent job!
Thank you very much for your lovely feedback. I really appreciate
This poem, although written in such a simplistic style, had a powerful effect on me. It’s the story of a soldier who passed away fighting for his country and a young woman who dearly loved him. This piece reflects the idea that their memories will last forever but, right now, it’s a matter of staying strong and moving on. I could feel how proud the speaker was of him by the way she tells us about him. I have no improvements to suggest. Just know that I really enjoyed it. Well done, and keep writing!
Thank you very much! I am very glad that you liked my poem!
No problem!
