I held you close,
great treasure from God,
and you fell asleep in my arms.
Handmade things,
delicate and pure of heart,
the simplest and sweetest of charms.
You worshipped me
like a long-lost friend,
never losing me from view.
Never thinking to take
advantage of me,
though I was clearly a slave to you.

Your comment was posted, but it wasn’t long enough to count as a review. Reviews need about four complete sentences (at least 250 characters). Try writing another review that explains your thoughts in more detail — the author will appreciate it, and you’ll earn points for it.
This is quite beautiful, it is my honour to review it for you!
Firstly I'd like to say something about the formatting. I think that, because the two last lines of the first two verses rhyme, as do the last lines of the last two, what you have here is two verses, not four.
My second point, "You worshipped me// like a long lost friend," this seems strange to me. A long lost friend would not worship their friend on there reunion. Or ever for that matter. Just a thought.
My third point is that "never losing me from view." doesn't seem to match the rhythm, and makes less sense when scrutinized, although at first glance matching well with the rest of the poem. What I suggest is replacing it with, "You always kept me in your view," or something similar.
Overall very well done, 8 out of 10 for this, and I wish you all the best in your writing endevours.
Yours in reviewing,
The Fiend.
Hey there lyssiekins!
Hadj here to review your poem! (GO TEAM BLACK!)
Nitpicks
It may have been on purpose, but I was bothered by the fact that you didn't capitalize the first letter of each line. I suppose its optional, but personally, I would recommend it.
Criticism
I admit, I didn't even notice the rhyme scheme until after I finished the poem. I think that if you wanted it to rhyme, you should have increased the number of rhyming lines, or kept the lines that rhymed a bit closer together. Other than that, I really have nothing negative to say about this work.
Praise
AWESOME JOB. This is like my third review today on a poem about babies, and this poem was probably my favorite. I love you the baby is portrayed as so perfect and innocent, it was incredibly sweet and so much fun to read. I love your stanza sooooo much!
Great work and keep writing!

Your short description was a trap, as I was very confused by it and slightly intrigued...as I am very tired. Anyways, I think that this was a pretty interesting twist on babies and the way they do sort of take control of your entire life especially if you're young and not ready for one. Overall, I think you did a great job in describing why you would be a slave to a child and it's quite humorous. Great job
Interesting take on a mother and baby. I never really thought of mothers being slaves to their kids but it is true. I like the rythmetical reader in the work though i myself never seem to use rythme. I also neverthought of babies as being handmade. I guesss i shouldnt become a mother.
The third staza line of "never losing me from view" is good imergy towards how babies stare at people with their evil eyes. (not a fan of babies)
Hi, lyssiekins. This is Pinkieishere1345 here. I like to be your review so I will try my best to do this for you.
This poem is very good! You gave a very good message on here. I loved the descriptions that you gave on here. I can see the mother is holding her baby in her arms while I see this beautiful poem. I love this poem a lot! I enjoyed this poem very much, lyssiekins. After I did have one mistake on here which this user, writer88, pointed out. Also, I didn't care about the not capitalize nor capitalize the whole poem which it is in the beginning of the lines. I still love this poem. Anyway, this is a great poem. I hope you write more poems. Well, see ya next time.
Good Job!
Love,
Pinkieishere1345
Hey Iyssiekins! Writer88 here to review for ya'!
I really liked your poem, but I will tell ya' the praise later.
First, I think you should capitalize the beginning of each line. That is traditional in poetry.
Next, you spelled worshipped wrong in the third stanza; there should be an another "p":
"You worshiped me
like a long-lost friend,
never losing me from view."
I like the description and vocabulary. Wonderful!!! I enjoyed reading your poem. Liked this a lot!
Hi thanks for your review, I realize it is a traditional thing, but I don't capitalize unless it is starting a new sentence. Secondly my computer kept auto correcting worshipped but I added the one you said to the dictionary. That's weird. Thanks!
Your welcs!
