doubt

the world swings on this fragile axis,

but i still find time to doubt

if i ask this, nagging question,

that eats savagely,

at my peace of mind and its

tranquility.

short days and long nights pass,

we sit perched merrily on the dying grass,

the juxtaposition of youth and old,

will the burns you left ever grow cold?

I like the fact that it is short too, and I think that it doesn't need to be any longer. That is its charm.Doubt is a feeling that I am very familiar with, and sometimes it does eat your guts and enhance your anxiety. The state(s) of mind that you describe here are very clear and capture the essence of being you know filled with doubt, and a huge questionmark about the world around you itself. The rhyme flows pretty smoothly too.

Hello

The shortness of this work is part of its charm.
Upon reading, it is difficult for the reader to decide, what exactly the ‘doubt’ in your title refers to. However, after reading, I had decided that it was a wider question about the world, which cannot be so easily interpreted.
‘the world swings on this fragile axis,
but i still find time to doubt’
You have a strong style and clear voice in this piece.

Hello there!

I really really like short poems, especially if it leaves a big impact on me like this one did. Short and to the point, while still clouding it by not saying it outright.

nice usage of a big word, however, I got stumped by it because it's so..fancy as compared to the simplicity of the poem. However, I really liked the line,

"will the burns you left ever grow cold?"

Hinting that old wounds are still causing pain rather than turning to scars.

"if i ask this, nagging question,

that eats savagely,

at my peace of mind and its

tranquility."

While having little connection the last stanza, at least how I see it, I feel like this has too many commas. It really breaks up the flow of the poem, as it made my mind stop and start while reading it. Again, I'm not seeing any real connection between those lines and the next part of the poem. The finish was really nice and well done, however, the middle is lacking a lot of flow between the two thoughts.

This piece has a lot of potential and I really liked the end. Great job.

Hello, lewiseyles.

Kanome here with a wonderful review for you.

Okay, first off, personally loved this poem. It really speaks out to me in so many ways I can't really describe. I love the wording in the poem too, especially that word "Juxtaposition." I don't know what it means, but that is a very interesting word.

I agree with @hopeless03, your punctuation could have been better, but other than that, great job. Remember, capitalization is important too when it comes to poetry.

MY favorite lines were:
" if i ask this, nagging question,

that eats savagely,

at my peace of mind and its

tranquility."

Because I ask myself nagging questions that just burst my mind, which is really bad for me to do.

Spoiler
Sorry, I do not use the quote code thing when it comes to reviewing.

All in all, I give this poem a good 3.5 out of 5, which is amazing.

Keep up the good work!

Hello hopeless here to give you a review!!

I would like to start off by saying this is a really good piece of poetry. But it needs to be capitalized is some parts and better spacing. It's a good size and it has good spelling and grammar. The punctuation could be better but it looks just fine as it is, all I would fix is the capitalization. But the poem it's self is amazing and can relate to some of the writers on here. So bravo to you! You have a great talent and a wonderful poetry writing curer ahead of you if you stick to it!

Keep writing and stay beautiful!!

Besides, if you want perfection, write a haiku. Anything longer is bound to have some passages that don't work as well as they might.
