I live on the edge, so easy to mold
I hang on because there's more, I'm told
And every long hard day
And every cruel cold word
I'll make that sad decision,
But it will stop me from being heard
I know there's more like me
So depressed and close to dying,
But we hang on
We'll sing a song
This song's ignored, so most just slip
Slip over the edge where we all sit
I tried to reach and i tried to save,
But everywhere I try, I'm always too late
I can't erase the scars and cuts on our wrists
But what I will do is I'll say this:
I've been there too!
But I'm not gone yet, I've found hope
And one more thing
I may have done this
But your skin's not paper,
So please, don't cut it.

Very relevant and relatable, once again a very poetic piece.
Managing to turn pain into poetry is an amazing thing to be able to do. I find people are often reached best through artistic expression when the creation of it is feuled by something painful. But you managed to help turn the situation around with a promise of hope, which made this even better. The plea for others to not hurt themselves, and for them to be okay, a very bittersweet sentiment that I think you got across very well. <3
(I'm very bad at reviewing, this is just how I felt about this piece)
Hello!!
I love your work! It is very relevant to our current generation. In fact, your piece made me believe in the essence of hope. At times, we may feel held back, depressed, yet some people do not mind that fact, which is disheartening. Your work opened my eyes. We can still change things one step at a time and from what I've read, you've chosen to spark awareness. You've not only expressed your thoughts, but you've helped others realize that hope will always be present in the midst of darkness.
Continue to inspire others!! Great work!
Oh, thanks! It's awesome to know I'm inspiring, because most of the time I just feel like a ghost! I really mean it, thank you for the encouraging words.
This shows how much people need help if they suffer from depression or suicidal thoughts. There aren't that many who are willing to reach out, like you and others. I find that you're doing the right thing, like you, you've dealt with the agonizing thought of cutting. You cut because no one cares, you cut because no one will come to your aid. Well, I think you're doing the right thing by writing this poem, it shows that you're brave, considering that YWS is a place of no shame, and I think that you did a wonderful job! And I hope when you get this notification, you think that too! I myself suffer from depression, and I find that this is a great stress reliever! I'm glad that you're on here, this is a great place to let off steam, say all the thoughts in your mind. Feel free, if you need anything, to PM me, I swear on my life I'll help you and if you just want to talk about random topics, I'm all for it! If you want to meet my irritating alter ego, go right ahead! Anything! I promise! I think you did a wonderful job on this poem, there's not many writers that I know on here, except for those few, that write about pressing topics like this!
Great job friend! Merry Christmas, happy new year, I hope you feel good this holiday season! Keep up the fantastical work!
