London Bridge

PreviousNext
Long time ago
When I had no friends at all
A short story happened
While I was abroad.

I was in London
In a cold rainy day
Walking all alone
Waiting for someone to approach.

Rain rain rain
Seemed to stop no way
The minute I reached the bridge
I saw him on that day.

We kept looking at each other
As if we were from the same mother
He smiled and I smiled back
And in no time we became friends.

Some time passed
And we became close
The London Bridge was always
Our meeting point.

One day he knelt to the ground
And pulled out a ring that costed pounds
He asked me to marry him
And I kissed him on the chin.

Bye bye good times and hello bad times
I became lonely at nights
When he joined the army
To defend the country.

The war was the one that separated us
From the world we created
He got killed on the bridge
With nothing less complicated.

The bridge is all I’ve got now
It brought him to me and took him from me
Feeling the remorse and feeling down
Waiting for my last minute to die.

Hey, my poem "London Bridge" is about war. It also includes the theme of love in it. I wrote it in a realistic way, and even emotional, so the readers will enjoy reading it. It is about a person who met her lover and lost him during war. If you haven't read it, I suggest that you read it, and give me your feedback.

This is a very nice poem! This is one of the first poems about the London Bridge. You may want to start thinking about your punctuation. Most of the time there is just a full and sudden stop, it would be wise to think about it in the future. In some parts the words are simple, and like Matthew said, don't quite give this poem justice.

I am a new player and poet/writer, so forgive me if my review is not sufficient.

You are doing well. Keep it up!

This was an interesting poem to read; I can't recall reading anything else about the London Bridge yet. It was a nice poem, and I liked the unique idea you had. Some punctuation was off, but still very good. It was the kind of simple and straight forward poem that I like to read when I come on the site. Good luck for future writing, great job!

I saw your site, and it was cool that you did something to share about yourself and your writing!

Today I bent the truth to be kind, and I have no regret, for I am far surer of what is kind than I am of what is true.
