You'll never follow me

''I love you.''

''I love you too.''

''It hurts so much, you know – walking away from you. From us.''

''I know.''

''Wherever you go, um… Wherever this life may lead you...  I…  I'll be there for you.''

''I know.''

''I want you to remember the night we first met. It is all that matters – your smile, the fire and that beach. Forever.''

''I will. I love you, Dean.''

'' Bye, Mary. I love you.''

''Goodbye–''

 ***

''No.''

''I love you. I will always love you. Don't you get it–''

''I don't trust you, Dean.''

''I know.''

''We have to break this up. It was all gone long time ago.''

''Don't you remember how happy you were that night on the beach  – the first time that I ever felt your lips?''

''…''

''I love you.''

''Goodbye, Dean.''

***

 ''I missed you.''

''We saw each other yesterday.''

''No, I missed you.''

''It's over, Mary. It was starting to be over from the first time we met on the beach.''

''Would it be different if I hadn't done it, if I hadn't cheated? Would you still be here?''

''Yes. I would.''

''I love you.''

''...''

This is completely out of the norm. Maybe you did it on purpose, maybe you didn't. Either way, it was amazing. I am a real dialogue-writer myself. Even then though, you have to put in description of the people, the place, and clothes etc. The funny thing is: you didn't have to do that, and it worked perfectly. You didn't describe anything. It was just them talking--yet that was enough. I got the whole feel for the characters' personalities just from their words. I learned basically what happened in the past simply because of what they were saying. Not many people could pull that off, but you did, and you did it wonderfully.
Great job!
Sylvia.

Umm I am a little confused! What the heck was going on? It was all narrative! Nothing else, no explinations about what is going on. Nothing! Maybe add a bit more detail! Other than that, really good job! I know this is one of your older stories but You could still maybe edit it to add a little more description.

Hey Klara! :D
I'm here to tell you how amazing that was review your work.

First off, even though it's obvious, this isn't written like a normal short story. I don't usually see novel writers taking creative freedoms like poets do this way, but I have to say I like it. In fact, I had to double check if this was listed as a short story =x
But it's a good thing it's written the way it is, reading 'he said/she said' over and over again would've gotten annoying.

Being made up of all speech, I find that there are little to no grammatical errors, and if there are, they're small enough for me to not notice.
The whole thing also flowed perfectly and fit well together.

Now that the technicalities are over with, I'd like to say that this was oddly interesting for me to read. Not really my slice of cake, the whole 'romance' thing, but you managed to make me read and enjoy this piece.
The twist at the end was perfect and I loved it.
Keep up the great work, and keep on writing :D

Telling your story through dialog alone was a unique idea. Even without you telling us how they feel, you do a great job showing the emotions through what they say. I don't feel like your story is missing anything, even though you've left out the prose.

I also liked your structure. You move through several key events without telling us exactly what happened, but you give us enough information that we can form our own ideas about it.

My only complaint is that by leaving out prose, you leave out a good chance to tell us more about the characters through setting. Sometimes the transition between the two characters was a little bit confusing, but most of the time it was smooth.

I really don't have much else to extrapolate on! Great job! Keep up the good work!

Alright, so, this was interesting, and you have a good start. I don’t have many technical things for you, just doing a grammar/spell check.

My nitpicks lie more with the story itself. It is very difficult to do a story just in dialogue, and I fear that your main plot and plot twists have gotten lost because it’s just the dialogue and no actual details. The fact that you have no details raises a lot of questions for the readers. It just feels incomplete and the questions that I have aren’t answered. I’m not exactly sure where you were trying to go with your story, but it would be more complete if you added description and details.

With what you do have, however, does portray a really sad love story, which is what I think you were going for. The fact that you did not have the other character reply ‘I love you’ at the end did wonders to strengthen the distance that was created between the two characters. Your dialogue is realistic, and I can picture it was conversations actually happening.

I do hope you add some details to clarify for the reader, though. It is realistic though, and very solid.
