This happens to all of us writers. I decided that there should be poem for it! Reviews are much appreciated!
The Writers Block Monster
There is a little monster
that creeps into your mind.
It sits upon a block
that reads, “I take my time.”
When you're not looking,
it searches for your writing.
Puts it in its box, and
smiles most defying.
“Give me back my stories,
and my poems and the such!”
The little monster laughs,
“All I can say is tough.”
After a few minutes, hours,
or even days,
the little monster sleeps,
and you sweep it away.
Your mind is clear and you write again,
but when you sleep
it tells a friend.
The writers block monster
tells it where to go.
Soon you have another monster
with a bigger box to show.
This is the cycle
that writers must endure.
But for the sake of human kind,
keep writing more!

<"sweep it away" doesn't seem like the right wording, or rather verb>

<Inspirational Ending>
First of all, this is an extremely cute poem. I enjoyed it very, very, very much! I have a small critique. The second to the last stanza is confusing. You kind of open a new subject and it seems misplaced. But, other than that, I like it!
Not a very original idea. I have seen so many of these types of poems, some even by myself. It's not even the best "writer's block" poem I've ever read. If you're going to pick something unoriginal for a topic, make it spectacular.
Writing? Defying? Does this rhyme? If so, please explain how.
Days? Away? Sloppy rhyming...
Endure? More? Maybe you could get away with this in some cases, but not from my point of view. Maybe you have a different accent to me, but I am not getting any rhyming here.
I'm pretty sure you set out to write a rhyming poem about writer's block. Unfortunately, you picked a been-done-a-thousand-times-before topic and you struggled with rhymes. If you are going to try to write a rhyming poem, please put more thought into your rhymes from now on. I'm glad you tried to write a "chicken soup for the writer's soul" type poem, but you have to be more careful.
THat is so true. Its clever to write something like that and defy that stupid monster. It happens to every body. Keep Writing! Your poem ryhmed nicely and it had a good flow.
I thought the originality that might come from the childish point of view did not exist. When writing this kind of poem, you should rely less on the words and more of the feeling you are trying to convey. That's what a child does; they don't care how they say it, as long as it gets said it is fine with them.
All of the grammatical errors were touched upon, so good job!
It was indeed, cute, but not very original.
I loved your third stanza, I thought it was very well written with an almost childlike defiance of a little gremlin thing. The rest of the poem seemed almost a jumble of words to me and I couldn't find much of a flow. You seemed as though you were cramming stuff in and then mixing it about, so it kind of gave it a rambling effect.
You need to touch up on your grammar, as TripleB has pointed out, but other than that, you have a cute little poem here.
Ginge
:]
Haha. A writer's block poem... hehe
Edits are in bold
Cute poem. I liked it.
