up my dosage, would ya?

please, take out my heart,
and replace it with an empty chest cavity.
i would rather not feel anything at all,
than torment of a heartless lust.
like skeleton fingers,
yours slip through my ribs
and tear apart the last beating remains
of the organ that once kept me alive.
now its only killing me.
now you're only killing me.
i put my cold hands to your chest,
hoping to feel your heart pounding in place,
but there's nothing left there anymore.
just another empty chest cavity.

Wow, we must think alike... I posted a poem along a similar vein before I read this... it's called "Shatter." In the ninth verse it should be "it's" with an apostrophe.

Wow, grim. I like it though. Cool images.

Very teen angst. I like it.

I like how the cycle begins anew, only this time the narrator is the heartshredder with skeletal hands....I liked that part a lot, by the way.

Overall a very simple and interesting poem. Nice work.

I'm officially making it my goal in life to become a roomba. I want to be little robot. I want knives taped to me. I want to be free.
