What is Success?

Success.
Accomplishing goals,
but first you must set them.
Achieving and Over-Achieving,
then achieving once more.

You must Never, Ever
Ever,
Ever,
Ever,
Ever give up.

Success is dreaming big,
then chasing that dream.
Seeing what you want,
but having the strength to go and get it.

Successful people do not know these words:
I can’t. I won’t. I shouldn’t.
It’s impossible.
Never. No.
Successful people, rather, know these:
I can. I will. I should.
It’s possible.
Now. Yes.

Success is hard.
Success is earned.
Success is dreaming.
Success is possible.

I really like this one. haha apparently I'm going to need some help with getting success because this is all true but I'm not very good at believing in myself. I have no doubt that you will achieve success especially after reading this awesome poem!

Hey there. I liked, no loved the idea of your poem. Although I think it could use some improvement. I would suggest that you take a few never's out. A poem can get pretty boring when it is repeated over and over and over and over... well you get the point. You should take out two or three of them. I know that that you want to emphazise it, but do it a different way. Also, I tihnk that you start alot, well too many lines with success. Maybe you could use some other diction, or change your sentance structure. I like the two stnzas after all the never's though. You did great there. Don't get me wrong I like you poem, but with some editing, this could be great! Good luck and remember that practice makes perfect.

Hello! I saw your post over at the Welcome Forum, but didn't get a chance to drop in and welcome you.

So welcome to YWS! Hope you're having a good time so far.

Now on to your poem. You have some great ideas in this poem. The only problem is that you have too many of them. I feel slightly overwhelmed. How about choosing one thing and emphasizing it. For example you're telling us that success is about achieving goals, then it's about never giving up, then dreaming big, then right and wrong choice of words or way of thinking and then finally we have some short 'definitions' of success. And all that you have going on in only five stanzas. You have some great big ideas but they loose their affect because it almost seems like a rant. Each idea needs to stand on its own to make a statement. One idea is not linked to well with the other.

I like the part where you mentioned success is about dreaming big. Why not take that emphasize on that. Make us feel motivated, dream and want to strive for that success you're talking about.

Also there were too many 'ever's for my liking. Too many of them takes away the importance of that part. I like that you put it in bold. I think three 'ever's should be fine.

Another thing, I noticed that you defined the process of success as also success.

Success is dreaming big,
then chasing that dream.
Seeing what you want,
but having the strength to go and get it.

I would think success is the result, the conclusion, the end point of the journey. But yours is an interesting stance. Elaborate on it.

I hope I was helpful! PM me if you have any questions.

Keep writing!

ok, I really REALLY liked this one. This is very descriptive and is true. Well true for me, as you know. May I keep this one por favor? I can't critique this, sorry!
