I. Selfish Monsters
Selfish monsters lurk-
In my soul they rot.
In my soul they feed-
Off of my dreams.
It always makes one wonder-
How much have they eaten?
How much have they taken from me?
II. The First Touch
The first touch.
Not- the feeling that was expected.
But it was gentler,
It was greater,
It was so-
Soft.
In my heart.
In my soul.
I just will always wonder-
If he carried it too.
The softness.
The feeling.
Even though-
I wasn’t his first.
III. No Attachment
No attachment.
Fits his.
I don’t understand
The weight
Of which we share.
Is there a name-
That this is called?
For it is not love-
Nor is it hate.
IV. The Story
There’s a story,
In my heart.
My fingers scrape-
And scratch-
At the story.
Though-
I don’t know the name.
And if not named,
What is a story-
But its content?
V. The String
The problem-
With our string,
Is,
You are holding your end-
To a level-
I will never reach.
I can read,
Your messages-
That you send-
But most,
Are lost-
Within the space between us.
That will never be reached.
VI. When You Touch Me
When you touch me-
It’s not ordinary.
I have never-
Been touched,
Like the way-
That you touch me.
It’s quick-
It’s gentle-
It’s scared.
But most of all
Restrained.
VII. The Versions of You
There’s so many parts of you.
So many versions.
The only parts I morn-
Is the insecurity-
The scrutiny you hide.
The empty in your heart.
Or maybe it’s the fact-
That you pretend to value yourself.

Hello there, human! I'm reviewing using the YWS S'more Method today!
Shalt we commence with the morbid S’more?
Top Graham Cracker - This is a collection of poems about how deep one’s soul goes and if an answer can ever truly be found within someone.
Slightly Burnt Marshmallow - I have no recommendations to make as of right now, but if you would like to edit this, then you may.
Chocolate Bar - This could be about love, but…I also feel like it’s about the demons that take away everything from this person that makes them who they are until there is nothing much left at all. I like the part about the unnamed story in the heart the best because it feels like somebody is trying to remember something that gave them meaning but cannot and as a result, they don’t truly understand what it meant at all. It feels deeply tragic. :<
Closing Graham Cracker - Overall, a wonderful collection of poems about the pages of depth inside one individual. I have enjoyed reading this and I will think of checking out your other works. And now…
I wish you a dazzling day/night! ^v^
love this! you have a distinctive style with the short, clipped lines. it feels a bit like a conversation with yourself. hope you participate in napo this year, would love to see more from you! <3
Attractive. Its a soft pity relativity or relatability, it feels like a shame really but it's fascinating how the beating of the heart and the feeling has pathways of beating with the same or similar rhythm that they mimic feeling with emotion that connects strangers in an ocean of words that can carry you away but like a river flow they're own way that they can sometime miss each other in their separate ways not knowing that they're going to the same ocean of sea.
My Favorite Was The 1st One. I can resemble emotionally with it or with you. 🎭 🤷🏻♂️
