I guess I couldn't say enough with just one post... I really agree with what you are saying. I have a poem that has been underway for the past year. Planned out as it is, it ends up with about 48 stanzas total... AUGHH!!! It is the poem that has made me the angriest and the poem that has possibly some of my most beautiful imagery. This is "inspiration," I guess.
I really like the word choice you employed in this poem... It was very much something that as a fellow writer I could relate to. This is a perfect example of a free verse poem that I will never be able to make myself be able to write well, so I applaud you.
I did sometimes think the flow of this poem was off every once and a while, especially this "Capricious as the /Fox/ Or coyote/ Of ancient myth." Something felt wrong; I think it's probably the single-syllable and single-word combination of "Fox." To me it doesn't seem to have enough to it. I would suggest finding another animal to use that has perhaps two or more syllables or add a descriptor.
I thought this piece was amazing. Almost perfect except for a couple parts:
You shouldn't have broken up this lineAnd here:
This part is a little ambiguous. Is the coyote magical? Is he a special coyote?
But I really connect with this poem because writing really is a capricious, hair-pulling task. And unlike most people think it does not merely come from "inspiration." Like you described, it takes work. Thank you for this.

Just Beautiful, Honestly when i come across pieces such as these it really makes me smile

This poem is simple and really relatable
"Pretend to forget about it
And it will come to visit."
The ending was really cute and fantastic as it really left me with a smile and a thought of if i should do the same of the pieces that i write.
So well done with this simple yet amazing poem, i hope you write more of these
Ill be looking out for your future posts
I Hope you can take some time to look at a few of my poems and tell me what you think
Would really love the feedback
Hope to see more of you soon.
