our silhouettes could guide us,
all on their own, beneath the lights.
as we walk side by side, hand in hand,
there's no one outside here to trust,
since we'd never to talk to strangers.
down the street, i wait for you,
even though the stoplight says green.
possession makes me grasp you tight;
obsession makes me stay in stride;
i only dream that you like to walk with me.
we head somewhere, which you claim east.
our shadows hint of where to turn
but we amble still where the sidewalk goes.
whether doubts skim your mind as in mine,
there is a home, i assure, there is a home.

I'm curious how You came up with the name and decided to write it that way
I really liked the.... meaning in it... but ... everything else sort of bothered me, even with the edits...
No offense, it's proobably my mood but I liked it... my favorite line:
i only dream that you like to walk with me.
It was... just this pretty .... pretty-ness
Keep it up.
Wow, thanks for all the nice comments!
I really appreciate it.
You were always such a pretty poet.
I think this is one of your best.
This made me smile. Before this I had forgotten why I got into poetry, and now I remember. Its the simple thing wrapped in bigger thing. Not sure if you knew that that's what you did, but I saw it. I'm gonna try writing again now.
I have no advice. I just wanna tell you to keep writing.
Great work.
I really like this...and I have nothing else particularly constructive to say
You're welcome.
Thanks for reading and commenting on this. I changed it with some of the suggestions you made (like hand by hand... oops
).
First of all, let me say this. This is a very dreamy poem, and it reminds me of walking through a quiet fog. Is that how you wanted it to be?
our silhouettes could guide us,
all on their own, beneath the lights.
I love this first part. Very good beginning.
as we walk side by side, hand by hand,
Shouldn't it be 'hand in hand'? I think saying 'hand by hand' gives the idea that you are walking on your hands. If that is what you meant it to be, you don't need to change it. If you do change it, I think the rhythm would be much better if you exclude the comma in between 'side by side' and 'hand in hand'.
there's no one outside here to trust,
since we'd never to talk to strangers.
down the street, i wait for you,
even though the stoplight says green.
I think this second line is a tad too long. Try reading it out loud..I kind of tripped over the word 'stoplight'. Maybe changing it to 'even though the light is green' will sound better.
possession makes me grasp you tight;
obsession makes me stay in stride;
I like this part. The use of the words 'possession' and 'obssession' fits along well perfectly with the poem. If I were you, though, I wouldn't add a semicolon to the end of the second line..maybe a '...' would be better.
i only dream that you like to walk with me.
we head somewhere and you say east.
our shadows hint of where to head
The use of 'head' here twice in two lines is not a good idea. Maybe changing it to 'our shadows hint us where to lead' or 'our shadows are simply there to lead' sounds better.
but we amble still where the sidewalk goes.
whether doubts fleet your mind as in mine,
I don't understand this second line..are you speaking to your companion, telling him/her that doubts are fleeting your mind?
there is a home, i assure, there is a home.
I love this last line. Wonderful work.
I hope I was of some help. Remember, everything I suggest may not always sound right to you..poetry is always written the way you think it should be..I am just suggesting.
