A poem saying goodbye to RavenAkuma. (now @Ravena)
A raven rests upon a stone,
Part of a family and all alone.
As it sits atop a stony slope,
From its beak, comes a story of pain and hope.
-
I sat down next to the raven there,
Telling my own story, unaware.
Yet as I sat the raven gave attention,
And upon my work she gave contention.
-
What a joy it was to have my story heard,
So I harkened to this black-feathered bird.
Her story, too, did stir my heart and soul,
Like burning flame to smoldering coal.
-
Her life brought joy on this wonderful site,
From darkness there came a beautiful light.
Yet day by day for granted I took,
The fact she gave my stories a look.
-
And now I sit here saddened true,
That it took so long for me to get back to you.
I missed the day that she grew tired,
Couldn’t thank her for all that she inspired.
-
So now the raven has flown away,
I hope she finds rest and joy someday.
This is my prayer, that she would find the one who loves her,
For she has given much of herself to me and to others.
I wish I could have been there for you, Raven. It was always a joy to read your reviews.

Beautiful tribute poem, I sincerely hope Raven has the chance to read it one day and know what impact she made here! <3
This is absolutely heartwarming! What a gift you have given to your dear friend. I sincerely hope that the two of you enjoy each other's friendship for a long, long, time.
The rhyming is sweet and succinct, goes well with the imagery of the raven. Wordplay is cleverly used.
It really resonates how both of you spilled out your hearts to each other and ensured the other would always have your ear and understanding. Relatable stories always ring truer. I like how you reiterated that despite her pain and dark days of life, she turned them into fuel for creating wonderful literary tapestries.
It is a really guilt-inducing thing to have left someone on read or perhaps delayed the reply.
I love the last paragraph because you're talking about letting her go to find her own joy in hopefully many places with gratefulness that she has given some of her lovely joy to you too.
Very kind thing to do.
Great poem. <333
This feels very heartfelt and sincere, especially in the way it uses the raven as both a symbol and a real person being remembered. The imagery is simple but effective, and the emotional progression from gratitude to regret to farewell feels natural and touching. I especially liked lines such as “Her story, too, did stir my heart and soul, / Like burning flame to smoldering coal,” because they capture the impact she had in a vivid way.
The ending also carries a quiet emotional weight without feeling overly dramatic. Some rhymes and phrasing feel a little uneven in places, but the sincerity of the message makes it work well overall. It’s a warm tribute that genuinely feels written from appreciation and loss rather than just nostalgia.
This is so incredibly sweet, we all deeply share your sentiments @dragonight9 <3
You'll be missed, Ravena. And I very much hope you come back someday, or at least find peace and true joy in your life.
