The Enchanted Ball

The Enchanted Ball

A Short Story
by Dragon F. Phoenix

Ara had always loved derelict Sorandril with its little, lazy lake. It was a place where she felt unstable.

She was a smart, giving, tea drinker with skinny arms and ginger feet. Her friends saw her as a flaky, fluffy fire. Once, she had even jumped into a river and saved a bulbous aged uncle. That's the sort of woman he was.

Ara walked over to the window and reflected on her deprived surroundings. The sunny teased like training bears.

Then she saw something in the distance, or rather someone. It was the figure of Miko . Miko was a forgetful goofball with lithe arms and tan feet.

Ara gulped. She was not prepared for Miko.

As Ara stepped outside and Miko came closer, she could see the mouldy glint in his eye.

Miko gazed with the affection of 783 tactless dead dogs. He said, in hushed tones, "I love you and I want equality."

Ara looked back, even more lonely and still fingering the enchanted ball. "Miko, eat my shorts," she replied.

They looked at each other with surprised feelings, like two hollow, hurt horses performing at a very helpful carnival, which had epic music playing in the background and two violent uncles jogging to the beat.

Ara regarded Miko's lithe arms and tan feet. "I feel the same way!" revealed Ara with a delighted grin.

Miko looked sad, his emotions blushing like a tired, testy tightrope.

Then Miko came inside for a nice cup of tea.

THE END

A/N: Story generated by using the Entire Short Story feature of Plot Generator. I didn't modify the story in any way (though I did change the pen name), and I think it turned out wonderful. Disclaimer for the sake of those who'd be shocked and appalled if I'd actually written something like this. ;P

Hey,

This is a fun little story :) I've looked at the Plot Generator before but never thought to use it...maybe I'll have to try it soon. Moving on, for this coming from the Plot Generator it is a really well written story. I looked it over several times and could find no spelling errors which really helps your story. In my opinion you have a really nice use of vocabulary displayed in this story as well as capitalization and punctuation. I think you did a great job weaving the plot through out this story. It was always in the back of my mind. I really have no complaints or nitpicks with this piece so great job!
Sincerely,

Dragon! It's been so long since I've seen you.. I like shorts, I like shorts a lot. So this a computer-generated short, well I've never tried writing a review for a computer before so we'll see how this goes. *Actually I just want to take it off the GR*

*bursts out laughing*

This needs to be on the spot-light, seriously. Is one of the funniest thing I've read for ages.

Ara had always loved derelict Sorandril with its little, lazy lake. It was a place where she felt unstable.

This itself isn't a bad opening sentence, leaves plenty of space to develop things. She likes it because she felt unstable, so why does she feel unstable?

She was a smart, giving, tea drinker with skinny arms and ginger feet. Her friends saw her as a flaky, fluffy fire.

tsk tsk tsk, computer. Remember the show don't tell. Get rid of the first line, and the flaky, fluffy fire would be fine. Fire can be flaky and fluffy? I didn't know that, but then my knowledge isn't as vast as yours.

The sunny teased like training bears.

Oh my, this simile is so deep and abstract, I cannot even fathom to guess what it means.

Miko was a forgetful goofball with lithe arms and tan feet.

I seriously like your writing style, generator. Keep it up, won't you?

Ara looked back, even more lonely and still fingering the enchanted ball. "Miko, eat my shorts," she replied.

Well, that accelerated quickly. Where did the enchanted and the loneliness come from, don't be so lazy computer. You could at least show us some more emotional interaction and background with the characters before shoving the shorts into their mouth.

They looked at each other with surprised feelings, like two hollow, hurt horses performing at a very helpful carnival, which had epic music playing in the background and two violent uncles jogging to the beat.

Yup, yup, I can totally see where everything is connected. Hollow, hurt horses and surprised feeling complement each other like ice and fire, water and oil. Simply splendid! And of course, epic music and violent uncles is totally related to the situation as well, you astound me, computer! With your genius!

Ara regarded Miko's lithe arms and tan feet. "I feel the same way!" revealed Ara with a delighted grin.

No no, that wasn't out of the blue at all, of course I know what Ara means when she said she felt the same way. And her description of Miko is so creative and different.

Miko looked sad, his emotions blushing like a tired, testy tightrope.

Oh yes, those two adjectives don't contradict each other and his emotions also make perfect sense with that simile.

Then Miko came inside for a nice cup of tea.

That ending, is almost as perfect as the 'it was all a dream' ending. Seriously, that ending is perfect.

End of sarcastic area..

I need to work on my sarcasm don't I, but on a perfectly seriously note. There is a lot of potential with what's been generated up there, especially with the opening line even the two characters. The written style of it isn't so bad itself, and the similes cracked me up like crazy. And that ending. XD. Those sudden, 'in-your-face' endings, I've always wanted to read one of those. So, that brings me to an end to my somewhat-self-amusing-review. If you ever decide to take on this wonderful short story and make some sense out of it, please inform me. I'd be most delighted to read it.
