Life is a long road.
It has its obvious beginning and it inevitably
stops on a dead end. Along this road,
you will have some breakdowns, some crashes
and you will encounter some bumps on the way.
All you have to do is enjoy the wondrous scenery
and stop once in awhile to take in the beauty.
Life is just a long road.

This struck me more as advice my grandma might give me than an actual poem -- it's a rehash of idioms and phrases we've heard before about journeys and life. It's not about where you end up, it's how you get there, etc. etc. There's no freshness to this - it's stale and uninteresting. The voice you've used in the poem lends itself to an encyclopaedic entry rather than poetry. I think my best advice for you is to scrap things like this, go read a book of poetry and open your mind to new ways of thinking.
Hey cynda,
This poem, as it is right now, is way too plain. You've only got the bare bones, no imagery, no real theme or story, and but for the line breaks this could just as well be any other cliché little paragraph about one very much overused idea.
If you want to fix this, try expanding more on those "dead ends", those "breakdowns" and "crashes". Give the reader something to grab onto, something that would resonate or give some meaning/feelings to the piece. Give it a twist. Steer away from the stereotypical images, and make it into something that will stand on its own.
Hey. This is a good poem. I used to write poems like this. I found that they say more than you let on. I like the idea of the road as life, and how the journey of life has it's ups and downs. The only thing I have a problem with, is the name. I think that it doesn't give justice to what you are really saying. (But it isn't that important) But it was a poem. Just also remember to do some reviewing as well.
