It’s okay, Edwina

*I added this as the ending to the sixteenth tale in part two of my story “25 Celebratory Christmas Tales”. Gacha Club character designs are under my forum titled “My character designs <33”. Enjoy! I know it’s July, but I felt like posting this now! ^v^ [I will get back to the creepy stuff later, I promise!]

“Edwina?” A voice asked.

Edwina groggily opened her eyes. Her Mom was standing next to the couch, her eyeshadow making her tired eyes look ghoulish. The TV was off, the lights on the Christmas tree were on.

“Edwina, I wanted to apologize for what happened earlier. I don’t think that I can do whatever I want. I think that we were both upset with each other and said things that we didn’t mean. You don’t have to forgive me, but I don’t want any of us to go to bed upset.” Mom said.

Edwina smiled. Ever since the visit from Moonbeam, when they watched Christmas movies together, her heart calmed a bit.

They sometimes fought when they were upset. They both had their own problems to work through.

But in the end, if they communicated with one another, all would be well.

Besides, Edwina didn’t really want to go to that Christmas party anyway.

“It’s fine. I know that you didn’t mean it.” Edwina said.

“You’re okay now?” Mom asked worriedly.

Edwina nodded with a grin.

“Yes. I’m okay. Want to watch a Christmas movie?” Edwina asked.

“One movie, and then you’re going to bed.” Mom said with a smile.

Edwina nodded understandingly.

“I’ll go get myself cleaned and in pajamas. You pick a movie while I’m getting ready.” Mom said.

When Mom walked upstairs to get ready, Edwina grabbed the remote on the couch and searched for a movie to watch, the twine angel that Moonbeam gave her sitting innocently underneath the blankets.

Sometimes she worried that Mom hated her. That Mom was upset with her. That Mom absolutely abhorred her.

But they had their arguments. They had their disagreements.

As long as they worked them through, all would be well.

Good Morning/Afternoon/Evening/Night(whichever one it is in your part of the world),

Hi! I'm Kate and I'm here to leave a quick review!!

First Impression

Well this is another rare wholesome moment it seems. Two people realizing they were being unfair to one another and being able to apologize and get past. A beautiful little family moment.

Anyway let's get right to: Kate's Line by Line Reactions;

Well this is quite a lovely opening, someone realizing that mistakes were made and not wanting to go to bed while fuming about it or thinking about it in general. Quite the wholesome little start in that sense.

Edwina smiled. Ever since the visit from Moonbeam, when they watched Christmas movies together, her heart calmed a bit.

They sometimes fought when they were upset. They both had their own problems to work through.

But in the dead, if they communicated with one another, all would be well.

Besides, Edwina didn’t really want to go to that Christmas party anyway.

Well it looks like they'd really gone ahead and thought that through there. Quite a mature approach to the situation from both of them there, I think it sets quite a lovely precedent that way.

Well looks like they've made up quite nicely there and in the end they're going to have a little moment of fun together as well to truly end this day on a nice and happy note.

Well that's a beautiful moment to end on. The two of them really cooperating there towards the end and everyone's just happy and content with what they're doing in the moment. Another rare wholesome it would seem.

Aaand that's it for this oneee!!!

Overall

Overall I think a wonderful little tale. Really enjoyed the emotions that were being displayed and the wonderful healthy conclusions that everyone here was coming to.

As always remember to: Take what you think was helpful and forget the rest!

Stay Safe and Have a Nice Day!

This was super cute! This was the first one I’ve seen in this series (if it is a series) and I was very intrigued! I love when we show that adults, parents, etc can be in the wrong and can apologize. I think there are a lot of experiences where a parental figure wont admit they were wrong and apologize to the kid. I like the healthy communication and there was no power shift where Edwina had this higher ground when the Mom admitted they were wrong. Its okay to be in the wrong and you don’t loose when you admit your wrong. It mends your relationship! Now this is all coming from only have read this post and have no idea what happened between them.

All this to say, I really like how this went and it was a pleasant surprise! We love Christmas in July! <3
