Ages Gone

I look back through the ages gone,
To times that seem to stay so long.
A place of waves, of shells, and rocks,
A place of dreams that ship off docks.
Where children laugh from fun and play,
Where grins and smiles last all day.
But some might find a little girl,
A stride of dance and hair with curl.
Atop her head a wild mess,
And clothed in a pale pink dress.
While running on the hard rock beach,
She laughs and says "You can't catch me!"
And splashing in the ocean there
She gains a smile, long and rare.
A twinkle in her eye was clear
That happiness was shown right here.
And though that time was then and gone,
My heart has kept that smile long.

I really liked it, it had some great imagery. And the descriptions were amazing. Not only was it beautiful, but it also made yo think a little about the message, or theme, of the poem. :)

Beautiful! This poems creates strong images in the reader's mind. That's what you'd like in a poem. No line seems to overflow, nice control over syllables, that clearly reflects some lyrical skills. Just feels right.

Shouldn't it be 'her'? But if you're talking about some other person, it's alright.

P.S : Age 15? You've got a spark in you, I can see it. ;)
