If Only I Could Sleep
I'm so tired.
Bags are under my eyes,
and my body sags
with exhaustion.
But it seems as though
no one will let me sleep.
I cannot just shut
my eyes and be done.
Everytime my eyes close,
I see a something.
Someone I know.
Someone I love.
And because of it,
I can't sleep.
Because against my eyelids,
I see them hurt.
Gone.
And I can't stay that way.
I quickly call them,
and they're always ok.
But the next time
I close my eyes,
there is another person hurt.
And then, I'm the one
I see on my eyelids,
and then,
I can sleep,
because I know,
that no longer will I have to
worry about others,
because I will be asleep.

It was a good poem. But I didn't really connect with your character. And in the 10th like where it says "I see a something." Do you mean to have the letter "a" in there or not? I think it would make more sense if you took the a out of that line.
But anyway it was a good poem and I enjoyed reading it!
Keep writing!
