She's like rain
And the mornings after
Pure, surprising,
she's tears and laughter
Calm yet furious,
loud yet silent
Rare and mysterious,
An unknown island
Green and vivid,
With maroon eyes
"I'm night, I’m beauty, I’m me"
She cries
She's colours and music,
She's peace and light
She's rainbow, she's love
She's weakness and might

Your comment was posted, but it wasn’t long enough to count as a review. Reviews need about four complete sentences (at least 250 characters). Try writing another review that explains your thoughts in more detail — the author will appreciate it, and you’ll earn points for it.
This is a lovely poem, your imagery is very on point. The only thing with poems is when you put a comma after a line, you're supposed to split off the line that comes after, they're not supposed to go right after the other. Otherwise, the poem becomes really jumbled together, spacing your lines well will really help with attracting readers. Now, with that aside, my one big problem is that line with the dialogue,
'"I'm night, I'm beauty,
I'm me" she cries"
Dialogue is always supposed to be together, never split off into a new line, dialogue also follows with the punctuation rule.
It should look something like this,
'"I'm night, I'm beauty, I'm me(. Or !)" she cries."
But your imagery and word choice are very well written and I really liked that aspect of the poem, keep writing and all the luck.
Thanx a lot babydollblues. I'll do that right away
Hello! Tigerlilly here to review!
Wow! I definitely enjoyed this poem and the contrast in her personality and moods. I read this in a sort of romantic light, though I quickly realized it didn't necessarily have to be romantic. It leaves a bit of room for how you interpret it, yet gives small bits and pieces of this person through describing them. For instance, this can definitely remind me of a close friend I have who happens to fit this description very well. The coolest thing about this is you didn't decide the relationship between the narrator and the girl, you only described her, and I find that absolutely brilliant.
Another thing I really enjoyed was the rhymes and how simple and perfect they were. They didn't seem forced and the poem flowed incredibly well. So, good job!
One thing I would recommend changing is the lack of periods or ending punctuation. I see a lot of commas, but the lack of periods (or exclamation points or whatever) is somewhat bothering me. I don't know, its my personal preference. You totally don't have to change that if you don't want to.
That's all I have to say! You've written a beautiful poem, and I really enjoyed it. Keep writing, I look forward to reading more from you in the future!
Thanx for the view tigerlilly37
I love it! I'd just like to say that I think you only add capital letters if there are full stops at the end of the line above. I'm not positive, but... Yeah.
The general mood is perfect and I love how it's written ^_^
Thanx
Hello Ivy here for a review, again probably going to be short since I'm not skilled in poetry and can't find much to change.
First of all...I don't know if this is a poetry thing or not but I wouldn't capitalize the first word after you skip a line, you only do that if you've put a period at the end....but then again I don't write poems, I just write novels which have completely different rules.
But I'm also trying to make this review long enough to be considered a review.....All-in-all this is a fantastic poem with little to no mistakes so...Well Done!
hhhhh I guess you gained some points from that. Thanx
And for the capitalisation, you can do this in poetry. That's as I know.
You're welcome
(Sorry if this was completely unnecessary)
Though, I wasn't trying to make points...I just noticed at first the review was too short to be even counted as a review (you need at least 4 sentences.....mine was only 2....) so I lengthened it so that it can count a a review to help you get out of the green room
Don't be. I don't mind.
