The prompt I was inspired by was: "A houseplant is dying. Tell why it needs to live."
The plant has been sitting in the same spot for 10 years. The same wicker basket has held it's roots in place in the safety of family room in my grandparent's home. Every day, my grandmother walks up the stairs with a pitcher of water to let it drink. Today, however, she is hit with a surprise. The leaves have browned over and little fingernail shaped imprints are resting in a neat line around the edges of it's arms. She runs her hands across the branches and is met with moist limbs. She does not cry but she fears that her beloved plant has gone too soon. Her children and her children's children have all met this plant. In the winter, bright and colorful lights adorn the plants body. Small ornaments hang from the thinner limbs. Abandoned children's toys play underneath the protection of the low hanging leaves. If her plant were to leave her, the memories would die with it. Her children toys would rust with the dying roots and her favorite ornaments would be forever adorned on her dying plants arms.

Hi! I'm here to leave a quick review!!
First Impression: Well...that was quite an emotional story there despite the tiny little paragraph...ahh...I just want to gush about this for several pages but well...I'll just say here that this was very good and then proceed to just gush about this down below with a little bit more detail.
Anyway let's get right to it,
Aww...well I never thought I would be crying over the death of a plant but I gotta say despite the tiny paragraph here that we meet it in, I am already very close to the ol' onion chop...this is just beautifully written and I do have a bit of a soft spot for things that have existed for a long time acquiring history and are now about to be lost....ahh...this is just a really well written and very sweet little story. Very sad to see that this plant might be leaving us...and ahh...well I'm just gonna hope this little plant can recover from whatever is causing it to die here...and that's not a line I ever thought I would type much less think. This is just somehow able to really connect with the emotions here.
Aaaaand that's it for this one.
Overall: Overall...this is just a really sweet short little story here...and well...I really don't have much else to be saying here...so with that...catch ya later then.
As always remember to take what you think was helpful and forget the rest.

Wow, I really liked this. It is like a sweet little memento to a very special plant. I think it is cool how you make it sound so much more than a plant but like a family friend instead. I makes me think of my grandma (who sadly is now dead) and how she used to have lots of plants in hanging pot-plant out the back.
Keep up the good work.
Good job
I love this. I love how you portrayed it. I love how you WROTE it.
The way you refer to the plant as something so important, with it arms, and protection, I feel like plants should get more recognition, y'know? Honestly, I like plants more than people, cause they're ALIVE, and they GROW, but they're not judgmental, or anything like that. I dunno.
Anyways, I love this, and I love you for writing it, because it kind of just inspired me to do something, AND it reminded me to go and feed my flowers in the back. c;
thankkk youuuu <3
Can't wait to see more from you!
