Girl

She’ll be in a corner, surrounded but lonely,
The giggling whispers not directed at her,
She is the quiet, the silent, the only
Whose Life’s precious memories she did defer.

She’ll speed through the hallways, eyes squinting and low,
Chasing the moments she feels are so fleeting.
Shattered allegiances leaving her so:
Mind viciously barred and heart softly bleeding.

She envies the others for retaining their grace,
For discovering love and taking their chances,
Strangers will notice her anger-streaked face,
A lasting result of her stifled advances.

Thus she’ll remain with constant regret,
The tragic consequence she’d never been told,
Seeing the beautiful lives that they’ve set,
With Siberian eyes, so heartless and cold.

I really love this poem and think that you worded it greatly! One small thing that I noticed, on the third line of the first stanza, the word life is capitalized. You might have meant for it to be, but I wanted to point it out just in case. I also loved your rhyme scheme, but i thought line b and d of the second stanza rhymed together a little awkwardly. Other than that, I think this is a wonderful, thoughtful, emotional poem. You are an amazing poet!
